San Antonio FC News Release

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC has signed defenders Fejiro Okiomah and Milton Palacios for the upcoming 2016 USL season, the club announced today. Palacios' signing is pending a visa. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Austin native, Okiomah, spent the 2015 season playing for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds where he made 21 appearances, scoring one goal and collecting two assists in 1,363 minutes. Prior to his time with the Riverhounds, Okiomah spent time with former USL club Charlotte Eagles, NASL side Indy Eleven and Chivas USA of MLS.

"Fejiro is a big, strong and fast center back that had a great season in the USL," said San Antonio FC Head Coach Darren Powell. "We look forward to him capturing that same form. We see him and Stephen McCarthy complementing each other very well in defense this year."

Okiomah played four seasons at High Point University and also played for the Carolina Dynamo in the PDL from 2009-12, making 42 appearances while scoring four goals.

"I'm extremely excited to join SAFC," said Okiomah. "There's nothing better than coming back to your home state and representing it at a professional level. I know the expectations that the club, the city and most importantly the fans have for this team, and I will give all I have for the crest and the community to make sure we are successful from day one."

Palacios, a native of Honduras, spent the second half of the 2015 season with the San Antonio Scorpions, making 14 appearances and playing over 1,200 minutes. Palacios scored his first goal for the club in August of last year while making his debut for the team.

"Milton is a very athletic right back," said Powell. "He fits the kind of playing style we want to play this upcoming season. He has the ability join in on the attack, and he is also a very good 1-v-1 defender. He should be exciting to watch for the fans this season."

The 27-year-old right back has also played in his home country of Honduras and in Guatemala.

San Antonio FC will make its debut in front of home supporters at Toyota Field on Saturday, April 9 against Swope Park Rangers, the USL affiliate of Sporting Kansas City.

Fans interested in being a part of the inaugural season can place their deposit for 2016 season tickets online at USLSanAntonio.com or by calling 210-444-5MLS. Individual tickets will go on sale Wednesday, March 9.
