Silvertips Fall to Victoria Rally

Everett Silvertips News Release

VICTORIA, B.C. - Jack Walker earned a natural hat trick and Tyler Soy posted two goals and added two assists to lead a four-goal, third period rally and help the Victoria Royals sneak past the Everett Silvertips, 6-4 before a crowd of 5,197 at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday afternoon.

Overager Carson Stadnyk, earning his third goal in two games, posted his seventh multi point game of the season with a goal and an assist for Everett. Noah Juulsen earned a third period power play goal and an assist on Stadnyk's first goal.

Victoria extended their franchise record winning streak to nine consecutive games, halting the Silvertips three-game win streak.

After a scoreless and tight-checking first period, Soy opened the scoring (including all ten goals scored over the last 40 minutes) on a two-man advantage with a one-timer from the right circle at 2:42 of the second period. The Silvertips answered on Stadnyk's 14th goal of the year, a wrister up high Griffen Outhouse.

The goal began a furious stretch of four goals in a span of 1:36. Soy put Victoria ahead again, 2-1 on a finish at the right circle, set up by Vladimir Bobylev's cross-ice pass at 10:20. Just 21 seconds later, Dewar parked a backhander past Outhouse on a two-on-one chance for his ninth goal of the season, after Outhouse got a piece of Stadnyk's bid from the right wing.

The tie stabilized Everett with momentum and at 14:24, seized their first lead of the afternoon on Brycen's Martin's fifth goal on an up-ice rush, converting as the trailer from the slot.

Matthew Phillips' breakaway goal leveled the scoring, 4-4 at 1:52 of the third period but the Silvertips countered on Noah Juulsen's power-play strike, a slap shot from the center point position for his fifth goal of the season.

Protecting the lead, the Silvertips were victimized for three goals in 5:17 - all by Walker. His first goal of the day tied the game on a one-timer between the circles at 13:25 and he followed by crashing the net and slipping a loose puck under Hart to restore Victoria's lead at 5-4 on a power-play goal with 4:11 remaining.

As the Silvertips pressed for the equalizer, a turnover in their own zone proved costly and Logan Fisher's centering pass from the trapezoid found Walker, on the tape, who finished the hat trick on a one-timer past Hart with 1:18 left.
