USHL CCM Players of the Week Named

February 8, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release


The United States Hockey League announced the CCM Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 20 of the 2015-16 season. Eastern Conference players Dallas Gerads, Keegan Ford and John Lethemon swept the weekly honors. CCM Hockey is the official equipment partner of the USHL.

Forward: Dallas Gerads - Dubuque Fighting Saints

2 GP: 4 goals, 1 assists, +5

Gerads scored his first career USHL hat trick Friday, a natural hat trick to cap off a 7-3 Dubuque win. Gerads scored back-to-back goals with less than ten minutes left in the third period prior to netting a shorthanded empty net goal. The Blaine, MN native would also be credited with an assist for a career high four-point night. Gerads added another goal to his weekend total with a tally to put Dubuque up 3-2 halfway through Saturday's game. The uncommitted winger has 10 goals and 19 points in 36 games this season, including 11 points in his last 10 games. Gerads previously played for the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (NAHL) and Blaine High School (USHS) prior to being selected by the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the 2015 USHL Phase II Draft in the 4th round, 60th overall.

Defenseman: Keegan Ford - Dubuque Fighting Saints

2 GP: 0 goals, 3 assists, +3

Ford tallied three assists, including a power play and shorthanded assist over the weekend. Ford's two assists on Friday, his 175th career USHL game, was his third multi-point game this season, and tenth of his career. The Waunakee, WI native is tenth in scoring by USHL defensemen and fifth in team scoring. Ford is committed to play college hockey at Michigan Tech. Ford played for the University of Wisconsin (NCAA), Waunakee High School (USHS) and Team Wisconsin (Midget) prior to this season and was named to the 2015 U.S. Select Team that participated in the World Junior A Challenge. Ford was tendered by the Dubuque Fighting Saints prior to the 2012-13 season.

Goaltender: John Lethemon - Chicago Steel

1-0-1-0, 1.89 GAA and .947 SV%

Lethemon stopped a career-high 47 shots on Friday, his second shutout in the past month. Lethemon endured a 19-shot first period, and followed it up by stopping all 28 shots the remainder of the game. The Northville, MI native helped Chicago earn three out of four points on the weekend by stopping 25 shots on Saturday, including five shots in overtime. Lethemon has tripled his win total from last season with the Steel, and is 3-0-2-0 in his last five starts. The Michigan State University commit previously played for Farmington High School (USHS) and Victory Honda (T1EHL) prior to being selected in the 2014 USHL Phase II Draft in the 1st round, 6th overall by the Chicago Steel.
