Sting Fall 4-3 on Sunday

Despite leading for the majority of the game, the Sarnia Sting fell 4-3 at the hands of the London Knights on Sunday afternoon. Graham turned aside 24/28 shots in the loss, while Parsons made a a number of key saves to earn the win for the Knights.

The bad blood carried over from January 24th, as Devon Paliani and Owen MacDonald dropped the gloves just 41 seconds into the first.

Sting Captain, Sam Studnicka opened the scoring just 2:12 into the opening frame, making no mistake after taking a pretty feed from long-time teammate, Travis Konecny. Rookie, Ryan McGregor drew the second assist on Studnicka's career-high 20th of the season. The Sting took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Just 2:36 into the second period, Matthew Thachuk notched his first of the night; evening the score for the Knights.

Zacha responded for the Sting on the powerplay, blasting him a one-timer from the faceoff dot. Jakob Chychrun and Travis Konecny were credited with the helpers.

With less that 1:30 to go in the second, Travis Konecny scored his 18th of the season to give the Sting a 2 goal lead. The goal was unassisted.

Just as the Sting thought they were going to take a 3-1 lead into the intermission, Tkachuk scored his second of the night with :29 remaining in the stanza. The puck took a couple of bounces and ended up in behind Graham.

Tkachuk completed the hat-trick, scoring the game-tying goal on a late third period powerplay.

With less than 4:00 remaining in the third, Brandon Crawley registered the game-winning goal after taking a pass from Marner.

The Sting and Knights will now face-off on Saturday night at the SSEC on DIFD night. The Sting are encouraging fans to wear purple in support of mental health awareness.

Sarnia's powerplay was 1/2 while the Knights went 1/3 with the man-advantage
