Brandon got 2 goals from Connor Gutenberg and a single from Duncan Campbell in the first 12 minutes of the hockey game. After the first, Swift Current trailed 3-0 with the shots 19-4 Brandon.
Tyler Steenbergen scored twice in the second period to narrow the gap to 3-2.
Brandon and Swift Current traded singles in the 3rd period. Lane Pederson scored a power play goal for Swift. His 4th goal in 5 games. Pederson now has a five game point streak.
Newly acquired Taz Burman made his first start for the Broncos. Burman stopped 34 of 38 shots he faced.
It's a quick and exhausting turnaround for Swift as they head right back to Swift Current for a 2pm Face off vs Moose Jaw Sunday. That game will be televised on Rogers Sportsnet and Sheldon Kennedy will be honoured with a WHL 50th Season Achievement Award.
