Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON)- Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced today that the team has acquired defenceman Brandon Prophet and winger Tyler Rollo from the Barrie Colts in exchange for defenceman Cameron Lizotte and Kingston's fourth round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
Prophet, a 6'3", 217lbs native of Brockville, Ontario has played 222 career OHL games. He has scored nine goals and 43 assists for 52 points and a career +/- of 17 to go along with his strong physicality and responsible play on the back end. The blueliner is a product of the Upper Canada Cyclones program where he played minor hockey with Petes captain Eric Cornel.
"Brandon is a reliable two-way defender that can contribute at both ends of the rink," noted Oke. "He possesses a big body and is a player that is well-respected by both team-mates and opponents."
Rollo, a native of Burlington, Ontario, is a 1997-born left winger who is currently playing with the OJHL's Oakville Blades. The 5'10", 165lbs forward has scored 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points and 34 penalty minutes in just 27 games so far this season. Rollo led Team Canada East and was third in tournament scoring with 6 points at the 2015 World Jr. A Hockey Challenge.
Oke commented that "Tyler is a player who we've been watching over the course of the past winter. We're excited to add him to the Petes organization."
Lizotte will join the Colts organization after 130 games in a Petes uniform, registering two goals, 12 assists, 14 points and 218 penalty minutes. "We'd like to thank Cam Lizotte for his service in Peterborough and wish him the best of luck moving forward."
The Petes get back on the ice with two more games this weekend, taking on the Ottawa 67's in the nation's capital on Friday before hosting the Hamilton Bulldogs at the PMC on Saturday at 7:05pm. Tickets can be purchased at the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in person, online, or by calling (705) 743-3561.
