Peyton Hoyt responded for Cape Breton (20-17-4-0), which dropped its second game in a row.

A complete scoring summary is available HERE.

The first period produced a swift pace, but no goals.

The Sea Dogs' best chance of the period came about eight minutes in when Spencer Smallman grabbed the rebound of a Joe Veleno shot and fired a wrister from the low slot that Screaming Eagles' goalie Alexandre Belanger snared with his glove.

Late in the period, on a power play, Cape Breton forward Pierre-Luc Dubois tried a backhand shot from in close that Saint John netminder Marc-Antoine Turcotte was able to squeeze between his pads.

Chiasson broke the ice with the game's opening goal nearly six minutes into the second period.

Nathan Noel won a faceoff to Belanger's right, and the puck went to Chiasson along the boards. The 19-year-old flicked a low wrister that got underneath Belanger's pad and inside the right post.

Turcotte stood tall again through the second period.

About twelve minutes in, the overage keeper used his glove to stone Jordan Ty Fournier on a clear chance in front of the goal.

Saint John led 1-0 after two periods.

Cape Breton tied the game twelve-and-a-half minutes into the third.

With a screen developing in front, Phelix Martineau ripped a wrister from the top of the left circle that Turcotte stopped with his right pad. Hoyt, the native of Lincoln, New Brunswick, pounded the rebound inside the right post.

Noel gave Saint John the lead again just 1:22 later.

The St. John's product took a pass on the left boards, darted across to the slot and whipped a wrist shot over Belanger's blocker.

Screaming Eagles pulled Belanger with under two minutes left.

With under a minute to go, Anthony Sorrentino corralled the puck to the right wing side of the net and tried a deke, but Turcotte stymied the first-year forward with a glove save.

Moments later, Marsh stole the puck in the neutral zone and secured the victory with an empty-net goal.

Turcotte was named first star with his 28 stops while Belanger took second star in a 19-save performance. Cape Breton forward Jordan Ty Fournier secured third star in front of 2,146 fans in attendance.
