VICTORIA, B.C. - An icon, a legend, and the inventor of The Wave.

Krazy George has confirmed he will appear in Victoria leading up to and during the 2016 HOME OPENER for the Victoria HarbourCats, a June 7 date featuring the Wenatchee AppleSox. Krazy George is celebrating the 35th anniversary of The Wave, which was a staple of his time at B.C. Place Stadium when he was a popular part of B.C. Lions games.

Tickets to the game are available now.

Krazy George's inclusion as part of a comprehensive OPENING WEEK entertainment strategy is provided through the community partnership of the Victoria HarbourCats and the Tally-Ho, "your place for Sports and Entertainment" in Victoria (tallyhosportsbar.com).

"This has been in the works for awhile, and we are pleased to complete the plans and be able announce this to the people of Victoria," said Jim Swanson, General Manager/Vice-President of the HarbourCats. "The work done by Brad Norris-Jones and Wayne Hopkins of the Tally-Ho to make this happen has been next-level, and this is orchestrated so there will be appearances and special happenings that coincide with welcoming Krazy George to Victoria. A key part was putting our ticketing in place, and people can now come to our office or call us to order tickets for this exciting first night."

The June 7 HOME OPENER marks the return of the DRIVE FOR 5,000 campaign. Last year's home opener, against the Kelowna Falcons, drew a West Coast League record 4,627 spectators to Royal Athletic Park, with a HarbourCats win punctuated by a spectacular fireworks show.

More details on Krazy George's activities while in Victoria will be announced in the weeks leading up to the game, but fans will get to meet George for pictures, autographs and other special happenings. Krazy George, for many British Columbians, is best known as the B.C. Lions' biggest fan during the CFL team's heydays in the 1980s and 1990s.

Krazy, whose real name is George Henderson, has appeared in front of more than 25 million fans live, and hundreds of millions more on TV - billing himself as the "World's Sexiest Professional Cheerleader." (www.krazygeorge.com)

Krazy George's appearance will add more excitement to the sports entertainment package the HarbourCats have become known for, led by team mascot Harvey the HarbourCat, and involving on-field promotions, family-friendly games, and countless giveaways and contests. The HarbourCats continue to work daily at adding new aspects to the gameday lineup that surrounds the top-quality baseball played on the field. The HarbourCats are proud to be entering their fourth season of West Coast League baseball in Victoria, backed by a local ownership group.
