Rampage Tripped up by Moose 3-2

San Antonio Rampage News Release
MANITOBA - The San Antonio Rampage took an early lead, but fell to the Manitoba Moose 3-2 in front of 5,742 at the MTS Centre Thursday night. Mikko Rantanen and Nikita Zadorov each tallied goals for the Silver and Black, and the teams combined for four power-play goals.
Rampage got a big goal from Rantanen, a blast from the point during a 5-on-3 advantage for the Silver and Black, late in the first period.
Zadorov extended San Antonio's lead midway through the second stanza, firing a pass from Borna Rendulic past Eric Comrie. The goal, which was scored on the power play, gave the Rampage a 2-0 lead. The Moose cut San Antonio's lead to one late in the frame when Patrice Cormier deflected Brenden Kichton's shot from the slot past Calvin Pickard, and the Silver and Black took a 2-1 lead into the second intermission.
Manitoba scored two goals within a 42 second span to take a 3-2 lead early in the final period. John Albert's slap shot on the power play knotted the game at two at, and Ryan Olsen scored at the 7:31 mark, the only goal of the game scored at even strength, to give the Moose a 3-2 lead. San Antonio outshot Manitoba 9-4 in the third period, but wasn't able to put the puck past comrie for the equalizer.
The Silver and Black finished 2-for-6 on the power play, and Calvin Pickard made 23 saves on 26 shots.
Key Stat
Rantanen now leads the Rampage in scoring with 10 goals. He has tallied 11 points in his last nine games and five of his goals have come in the last seven contests.
Thursday's game marked the 100th AHL and professional game for forward Troy Bourke.
Lineup Notes
Coach Dean Chynoweth mixed up the Rampage lines from Wednesday night's 5-1 loss. Mikko Rantanen, Colin Smith and Borna Rendulic made up Chynoweth's top line, while Andrew Agozzino, Joey Hishon and Reid Petryk skated on the second line.
