Ralston, NE - After trailing 2-1 late in regulation, the Dubuque Fighting Saints scored two goals in the final 3:35, including the game-winning goal with just 0:04 left on the clock to defeat the Omaha Lancers, 3-2, on Friday night in front of 3,050 fans at Ralston Arena.

The "Teddy Bear Toss" goal came 13:15 into the opening period. Brannon McManus took the puck into the offensive zone and drew the defender towards him. As the defenseman went to block McManus, he sent the puck to Nick Rivera who cut to the front of the net. As Rivera made his way to the crease, Fighting Saints' goaltender Hunter Miska stacked the pads looking for the save. Rivera fired the puck by Miska for a 1-0 lead on his eighth goal of the year with the lone assist going to McManus.

In the second period, Dubuque came out flying and put a total of 16 shots on net for 33 overall after forty minutes. A rebound in front of Lancers' netminder Kris Oldham was scooped up by William Knierim and sent into the net to tie the game at one goal apiece. The goal was Knierim's fourth with assists from Shane Kavanagh and Nathan Sucese and came 14:41 into the second frame.

Just when it looked like the game would be tied after two periods, William Fallstrom scored his first USHL goal to give the Lancers a 2-1 lead. The puck came up the right wing boards where Fallstrom took possession. After receiving the puck, Fallstrom spun and threw the puck on net that was deflected by Hunter Miska for his first-career tally in the United States Hockey League, unassisted, with just 0:40 left in the period.

In the final period Petter Makitalo missed the net on a fantastic chance from the right side circle and took the puck back for a second opportunity. On the follow-up chance, Makitalo sent the puck by Oldham's leg pad to tie the game for the Fighting Saints with just 3:35 to go in regulation. The game-tying goal was his third of the year.

Just when the game looked to be heading to overtime, a shot from the left point gave the Fighting Saints their first and only lead of the night. Keegan Ford took the pass from down low, wristed the puck on net, and Nathan Sucese deflected it by Oldham for the game-winning goal with just 0:04 left on the clock. The shot by Ward was Dubuque's forty-third and final shot to complete the late comeback win, 3-2.

Goaltender Kris Oldham stopped 40 of 43 shots he faced in the loss, which ended Omaha's four game winning streak.

After three games on the road coming up, the Omaha Lancers are back at Ralston Arena on Saturday, December 19th to host the Tri-City Storm at 7:05 p.m.! Come meet Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and Elves!
