Look Back:

The San Jose Barracuda (7-8-0-3, 17pts, .472%) presented by Barracuda Networks chomped four out of a possible eight points last week (2-2-0-0) in four games. The Barracuda split a two game set in Charlotte, NC with a 3-1 loss to the Checkers on Nov 24 but returned the favor with a 3-1 win in Charlotte on Nov 25 to close out their season long seven game road trip with a 3-2-0-2 record. San Jose kicked off a five game home stand with a thrilling 5-4 win over the Texas Stars on Nov 28 but dropped a 3-2 decision to the Stars on Nov 29 to close out the week at 2-2-0-0.

The Barracuda scored a season high five goals vs. Texas on Nov 28 in a game that featured four 2nd period goals. Loaned by the Sharks to the Barracuda on Nov 22, Nikolay Goldobin recorded four points (3-1-4) in four games with the Barracuda last week. Joakim Ryan and Julius Bergman each scored their first professional goals vs. the Stars on Nov 28 while Gus Young scored his 1st goal of the season on Nov 29. Troy Grosenick has made three straight starts (2-1-0) in net for San Jose while Trevor Parkes had a solid week with three points (2-1-3) in the four contests. Jeremy Langlois, Greger Hanson, and Barclay Goodrow also scored for the Barracuda last week as San Jose is now 1-1-0-0 on their current five game home stand.

Nikolay Goldobin (Nov 22) and Micheal Haley (Nov 28) were both loaned to the Barracuda from the Sharks last week. Forward Chris Crane was reassigned by the Sharks to the Allen Americans (ECHL) from the Barracuda on Nov 27. Dylan Demelo was recalled by the Sharks and returned after taking warm-ups vs. the Flames on Nov 28 and Mike Aviani was released from his PTO on Nov 29. Karl Stollery was recalled by the Sharks in the morning on Dec 1 and was returned to the Barracuda after the morning skate.

The San Jose Barracuda player of the week nominee is forward Nikolay Goldobin. The 20-year-old from Mockobckar, Russia recorded four points (3-1-4), +2, and had 7 shots on goal in four games with the Barracuda last week to lead the club offensively.

COMING UP:

The San Jose Barracuda continue their five game home stand at the SAP Center with a pair of games this weekend.

On Friday, the Barracuda host the Stockton Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) at 7:30pm. Coverage begins at 7pm on AM 1220 KDOW, online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.

On Saturday, the Barracuda host the Bakersfield Condors (Edmonton Oilers AHL affiliate) with a 1:30pm start at the SAP Center on UGLY SWEATER DAY presented by Barracuda Networks. The Barracuda players will wear a specialty ugly sweater jersey which will be auctioned off throughout the game. Fans are encouraged to bring new or lightly used winter clothing (jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, blankets) to the game to be donated to the Sacred Heart Community Service. For each donation, fans will receive a free ticket to the Barracuda game on December 30 vs. the Charlotte Checkers. Doors open at 12:45pm. December 5 marks the 3rd of 13 San Jose Barracuda and San Jose Sharks doubleheaders at the SAP Center this season. The San Jose Sharks host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7pm. MILESTONE ALERT:

Head Coach Roy Sommer (622 wins) surpassed Frank Mathers (1256 games coached) for the most games coached in AHL history on March 26, 2014 in the Sharks 5-3 win in Lewiston, ME over the Portland Pirates. Coach Sommer has coached 1362 AHL games - all with the SJ Sharks AHL affiliates. In total, Coach Sommer has been a head coach in 1,696 games in the AHL and ECHL. Coach Sommer picked up his 600th career AHL win in a 4-3 victory in Lehigh Valley on Feb 4, 2015 and surpassed Frank Mathers (610 wins) for 2nd all-time in AHL history on March 27 in Springfield with his 611th win! Roy needs 12 wins to tie Fred "Bun Cook" (636 wins) for the most wins in AHL history!

The San Jose Barracuda (5-7-0-3, 13pts) presented by Barracuda Networks fell by the score of 3-1 to the host Charlotte Checkers (9-8-0-0, 18pts) in front 3,719 fans at the Bojangles' Coliseum on Tuesday evening. Charlotte scored three goals in the final six minutes of the first period as Jeremy Langlois scored the only San Jose goal with 14 seconds left in the third period in the 3-1 loss. Aaron Dell made 16 saves in net as the Barracuda had their four game point streak (2-0-0-2) come to an end with the regulation loss. The Barracuda are now 2-2-0-2 on their season long seven game road trip.

11.25.15 - Charlotte 1 - San Jose 3 - W - Bojangles' Coliseum - Charlotte, NC

The San Jose Barracuda (6-7-0-3, 15pts) presented by Barracuda Networks played an excellent road game with a 3-1 win over the host Charlotte Checkers (9-9-0-0, 18pts) in front 5,116 fans at the Bojangles' Coliseum on Wednesday evening. Greger Hanson, Trevor Parkes and Nikolay Goldobin scored for San Jose while goaltender Troy Grosenick made 19 saves in net as the Barracuda finished up their season long seven game road trip with a 3-2-0-2 record.

11.28.15 - Texas 4 - San Jose 5 - W - SAP Center - San Jose, CA

The San Jose Barracuda (7-7-0-3, 17pts) presented by Barracuda Networks kicked off their five game home stand with a thrilling 5-4 victory over the visiting Texas Stars (11-8-0-1, 23pts) in front of 4,032 fans at the SAP Center on Saturday afternoon. The Barracuda exploded for four goals in the second period as Nikolay Goldobin scored twice, Joakim Ryan netted his 1st pro goal, and Barclay Goodrow netted his 4th of the season with just 10 seconds remaining in the second frame. After Texas tied the score late, rookie Julius Bergman scored his first pro goal at 19:12 of the third period to give San Jose the 5-4 win. Troy Grosenick picked up his 4th win of the season with 26 saves as the Barracuda came back from a pair of two goal deficits for the victory.

11.29.15 - Texas 3 - San Jose 2 - L - SAP Center - San Jose, CA

The San Jose Barracuda (7-8-0-3, 17pts) presented by Barracuda Networks fell short 3-2 to the visiting Texas Stars (12-8-0-1, 25pts) in front of 3,056 fans at the SAP Center on Sunday afternoon.

Trevor Parkes (1-0-1) and Gus Young (1-0-1) scored the Barracudas while Troy Grosenick (4-4-2) saved 25 of the 28 shots he faced in the loss. Both teams had one penalty shot in the 1st period that were both saved by the goaltenders. Curtis McKenzie (1-0-1), Radek Faksa (1-0-1) and Brendan Ranford (1-0-1) scored for the Stars while John Muse (5-1-1) made 33 save on 35 shots for the win as the Stars earned a spilt in the two game weekend set.

*High scorer in the Q... rookie Nikita Jevpalovs recorded 100 points (49-51-100) in 64 games for Blainville-Boisbriand in the QMJHL last season. The 21-year-old from Riga, Latvia has seven points (2-5-7) in 18 games for the Barracuda.

*The Sherriff... Frazer McLaren re-signed in the off-season with the SJ Sharks organization after spending the last 2+ seasons in the Toronto organization. McLaren holds the Worcester Sharks franchise record with 577 penalty minutes and has 12 penalty minutes in seven games for the Barracuda.

*J-Mac... John McCarthy led the Worcester Sharks in points (151) and goals (63) and was tied in the franchise lead in games played (277). McCarthy also served as the Worcester Sharks captain in 2012-13 and was the Worcester Sharks MVP in 2011-12. Coming Up for the San Jose Barracuda:

The San Jose Barracuda continue their five game home stand at the SAP Center with a pair of games this weekend.

On Friday, the Barracuda host the Stockton Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames at 7:30pm. Coverage begins at 7pm on AM 1220 KDOW, online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.

On Saturday, the Barracuda host the Bakersfield Condors (Edmonton Oilers AHL affiliate) with a 1:30pm start at the SAP Center on UGLY SWEATER DAY presented by Barracuda Networks. The Barracuda players will wear a specialty ugly sweater jersey which will be auctioned off throughout the game. Fans are encouraged to bring new or lightly used winter clothing (jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, blankets) to the game to be donated to the Sacred Heart Community Service. For each donation, fans will receive a free ticket to the Barracuda game on December 30 vs. the Charlotte Checkers. Doors open at 12:45pm. December 5 marks the 3rd of 13 San Jose Barracuda and San Jose Sharks doubleheaders at the SAP Center this season. The San Jose Sharks host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7pm. Fans must have a separate ticket for both games. Coverage begins at 1pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.
