FIRST PERIOD: The Victoria Royals have scored 93 goals on the season and have given up the WHL's second lowest goals against with 62. The key to the Royals success this season has been getting the early lead. This season Victoria has a record of 10-3-1-0 when leading after the opening frame. Medicine Hat has given up 32 first period goals compared to scoring just 18 times and sits with a record of 3-9-1-1 when trailing after the opening frame. Victoria also has been in seven 3 goal games this season, winning each one of those games. The key on this road trip will be to limit the damage in the first period for the orange and black.

RACKING THE KILOMETERS: For the Medicine Hat Tigers the next stretch of games in the month of December are on the road, 10 to be exact kicking off tonight against the Royals. The Tigers kick off a 4 game in 5 night stretch, a grueling grind for any hockey player and it sees lots of hours on the bus and many late nights. After Victoria, the Tabbies have a date with last year's scoring leader and former Tiger Trevor Cox and the Vancouver Giants before heading over to Kelowna and Kamloops. The rest of the month sees the Central Division getting a work through as a home and home with the Red Deer Rebels awaits Medicine Hat when they return from their British Columbia trip. Following the Rebels matchup, the Tigers play a bizarre three straight games against the Edmonton Oil Kings, once at home for the annual Teddy Bear Toss and twice on the road, finishing with yet another home and home against the Calgary Hitmen before the Christmas break.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS: The Tigers annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by the Medicine Hat News occurs on Saturday December 12th against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
