St. John's IceCaps News Release


POINT STREAK: With the shootout setback and a pair of wins this weekend, the IceCaps extended their point streak to eight games (5- 0-2-1).

BIG LEAGUES: Netminder Dustin Tokarski, and forwards Sven Andrighetto, Christian Thomas, Bud Holloway and Daniel Carr were all summoned to the Montreal Canadiens this past week. Bud Holloway returned to the IceCaps lineup on Sunday after one game with the Habs.

NEW FACES: The IceCaps will face their new- division rival the Utica Comets for the first time in franchise history on Friday night at the Utica Memorial Stadium, NY.

The IceCaps fell short in a shootout effort against the Americans in Rochester. Morgan Ellis, Daniel Carr and Michael McCarron scored as the IceCaps rallied from a 2-0 deficit, but Colby Robak replied in the final moments of the third to tie it up. Jason Akeson netted the lone shootout goal. Defenceman Mark Barberio picked up three assists in the loss.

Stefan Fournier potted the first, and game-winning goals for the IceCaps, while Charles Hudon also notched two goals in the victory over the Marlies. Gabriel Dumont, picked up a goal and a pair of assists.

Daniel Carr scored an empty netter to seal the win at the Air Canada Centre.

The IceCaps dominated the Marlies in a fiesty affair at the Ricoh Coliseum, as together the teams combined for 77 penalty minutes. Morgan Ellis, Bud Holloway and Charles Hudon registered a goal and two assists each. Daniel Carr and rookie Mark MacMillan also tallied for St. John's.
