BRAMPTON, ON - Luke Pither scored both Beast goals but that's all that Jackals goaltender C.J. Motte would allow as the Elmira Jackals topped the Brampton Beast 5-2 at the Powerade Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Cason Hohmann led the way on offense for the Jackals with two goals and an assist, while Colin Jacobs and Nathan Oystrick each added a goal and an assist to hand the Beast their second loss of the weekend.

The Jackals jumped out in front early as Justin Bernhardt and Jacobs gave the Jackals a 2-0 lead by the 10:13 mark of the opening frame.

It stayed that way until early in the second period. Jeremie Blain sent a shot on goal from the point that was first deflected by Chris Auger then deflected again by Pither to get the Beast back in the game, down 2-1.

Oystrick pushed the Jackals lead to 3-1 later in the second period as he sent a puck out front from behind the net that hit Beast goaltender Sean Bonar's pad and ended up over the goal line at 13:12.

From there on out, Motte stole the show between the pipes for Elmira. The Beast outplayed the Jackals for almost a full 60 minutes but Motte was the difference, stopping 32 shots.

The Beast were heavily outshooting the Jackals 21-11 after 40 minutes but the Beast couldn't buy a goal.

Hohmann caught fire for Elmira early in the third period, scoring both his goals by the 9:23 mark of the final frame.

Pither notched his second of the game at 14:14 of the third period, sending a laser of a wrist shot over the blocker of Motte to make it a 5-2 game, but that's as close as the Beast would come as Motte and the Jackals defense shut the door for the remainder of the game.

Notes: Beast captain Brandon Marino recorded an assist on Pither's second goal of the game, extending his point streak to six games. He finished the month of November on a hot streak, recording four goals and 13 assists in 11 games during the month. Molson Three Stars: 3) C.J. Motte 2) Luke Pither 1) Cason Hohmann. The Beast finished the night 1-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The Beast are back in action at the Powerade Centre on Thursday night at 7:15 PM to face the visiting Adirondack Thunder. Single game tickets are now available, starting at $16.25. Trial Packs for the 2015-16 season are also available starting at $39.99 that include three game tickets.
