Macon Mayhem News Release
It was indeed a black Friday for the Macon Mayhem, which lost to the Peoria Rivermen 3-1 in Peoria. It was the first meeting ever between the two teams.
Peoria built a 2-0 lead on a first period goal by Adam Stuart at 3:48 and a second period goal by Terrence Wallin at 1:55. Stuart assisted on that goal.
Newcomer Austin Daae (pronounced DOE) got the Mayhem on the scoreboard with a power play goal at 9:33 of the third period that cut the lead to 2-1. Daae scored in his first game with the Mayhem, after starting the season with Fayetteville. It was his second goal of the season.
But Chris Wilson's goal with just under three minutes left in the third period squelched hopes of a Mayhem comeback. Peoria outshot the Mayhem 42-37.
The same two teams play Saturday night in Peoria, in the second game of a five game road swing for Macon. The Mayhem's next home game is Saturday December 11 against the Fayetteville FireAntz.
