EDMONTON, AB. - The Edmonton Oil Kings announced today that Dario Meyer was recently selected by the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation to attend the U20 National Team World Junior Preparation Camp in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.

Meyer, 19, hails from Bern, Switzerland and has registered nine points (4G, 5A) in 21 games this season. The right winger was selected in the CHL Import Draft on June 30, 2015 and is the first Swiss-born Oil King in the organization's history.

During the 2014-15 season, the 6-1, 181-pound forward had 16 points in 25 games for Bern in the Swiss Elite Jr. A league and played four games for EHC Visp of the Swiss National League B. Meyer has previously represented Switzerland at the 2013-14 Hlinka Memorial Tournament and was invited to the Swiss development camp this past summer for the World Junior Championships.

"On behalf of the entire Edmonton Oil Kings organization, we're pleased that Dario has created an opportunity for himself to be invited to Switzerland's U20 National Team World Junior Preparation Camp," said Randy Hansch, Oil Kings General Manager. "We wish Dario the best as he vies for the chance to represent his native country."

Meyer will remain with the Oil Kings until he reports to the U20 National Team World Junior Preparation Camp on December 10, 2015.
