Fyten Recalled and Lewington Reassigned to Hershey Bears

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Austin Fyten has been recalled by the club's American Hockey League (AHL), the Hershey Bears, and that defenseman Tyler Lewington has been reassigned to Hershey.

Fyten, 24, has appeared in two games with Hershey in previous recalls. The Sundre, Alberta native has has scored five points (two goals, three assists) in 11 games with the Stingrays this season. He serves as an alternate captain with the Stingrays.

Lewington, a seventh round selection of the Washington Capitals in the 2013 NHL Draft, rejoins the Bears after spending the preseason in Hershey. He was assigned to South Carolina to begin his professional career, and notched three points (one goal, two assists) in 12 games with the Stingrays. The 20-year-old defenseman scored his first professional goal in a 3-0 win at Atlanta on November 21.

The Stingrays continue their 10-game road trip in Orlando on Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop. Fans are invited to catch the games at the Official Watch Party Destination of the Stingrays, King Street Grille-Northwoods.
