Hurricanes Acquire Pick for Wesley

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have acquired a seventh round draft pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft in exchange for forward Johnny Wesley.
Wesley was originally acquired by the Hurricanes at the 2015 trade deadline from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for overage forward Zane Jones.
In 31 games with the 'Canes last season, Wesley registered 11 points (6g-5a) along with 19 penalty minutes. The 18-year-old from Surrey was re-assigned to the BCHL's Surrey Eagles after training camp this season. In 18 games with the Eagles this year, Wesley has recorded 20 points (11g-9a) with 29 penalty minutes.
The Hurricanes host the Ice this evening at the ENMAX Centre at 7:00pm in the first of a three-in-three weekend. "Canes Crush Cancer" month continues as the team raises awareness of Prostate Cancer. Special edition t-shirts are available on the concourse for $20.00 with the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
