Musil with Two Goals; Rebels Win 5-2 in Cranbrook

CRANBROOK, BC - Adam Musil scored twice as the Rebels won 5-2 against the Kootenay Ice on Wednesday evening.

The Rebels scored the only goal of the first period; Lane Pederson gave the Rebels a 1-0 lead.

In the second period, the Rebels jumped out to a 3-0 lead after goals by Ivan Nikolishin and Jeff de Wit. With the goal Nikolishin ran his point streak to 5-games, he now has 10 points (6-4-10) in the last five games. The Ice cranked out goals a minute and nine seconds apart to cut the Rebels lead to 3-2. Matt Alfaro and Vince Loschiavo scored for Kootenay. It was 3-2 for the Rebels after two periods.

In the third period the Rebels put the game away on a pair of power play goals by Adam Musil. Nikolishin had assists on both Musil goals and finished with three points on the evening.

Trevor Martin made 19 saves in the Rebels net; Wyatt Hoflin made 41 saves in the Kootenay goal.

The Rebels were 2 for 3 on the power play; the Ice was 1 for 2.

The Rebels continue the road swing Friday in Medicine Hat, the broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 7:20PM on Friday.
