Providence Bruins News Release

Providence, RI - It was ex-Providence Bruin Paul Carey who put Hershey on the board first, scoring a power play goal 16:36 into the period, with assists from Stephenson and Ness. Noel Acciari responded with a power play goal of his own with under a minute left in the period to tie the game at 1-1 for his third goal of the season. Brandon DeFazio and Ben Youds were credited with the assists.

The stalemate continued in the second period despite another six Providence shots on goal. Malcolm Subban turned away all four shots thrown his way in the period.

Eight penalties were issues in the third, four to the Bears and three to the P-Bruins. Despite the many power plays, the third period ended in a 1-1 tie, sending the game into 3v3 overtime.

3:43 into the five minute overtime period, Carey notched his second of the night to give Hershey the overtime win and the two points.
