Peoria Rivermen News Release

PEORIA, IL - The Peoria Rivermen have announced two sets of corresponding roster moves in advance of their Thanksgiving-weekend series against the expansion Macon Mayhem.

On November 24, the Rivermen placed RW Mike Gurtler on 30-day Injured Reserve with a lower body injury suffered in Sunday's game with Louisiana, and signed RW Nick Grasso to a contract. Grasso played three games this season in the ECHL with Quad City, amassing two assists and a +1. Last season with the Mallards, Grasso played in 63 games and scored six goals to go with 10 assists and a +15 rating.

On November 25 the Rivermen announced a trade with SPHL rival Louisiana, sending rookie LW Luke Sandler to the IceGators in exchange for LW Chris Wilson. This season Wilson has played eight games with Louisiana, scoring two goals and two assists. Wilson was a teammate in Louisiana of current Rivermen center Adam Stuart for the past two seasons, and is in his fifth SPHL season and his sixth professional campaign, having played one season in the Sask Valley Hockey League in 2012-13. He previously played two seasons for Pensacola from 2010-12.

The Rivermen will still be forced to play one skater short for their November 27 & 28 games against Macon in accordance with league rules regarding the two-game suspension that had been issued to Sandler after Sunday's game with the IceGators and was due to be served by missing those two contests.

Single-game and season tickets for Peoria's 34th season of professional hockey are on sale at the Toyota Box Office in the Peoria Civic Center, or by phone at the Rivermen office, located at 201 S.W. Jefferson Street, or over the phone at (309) 676-1040. For the latest Rivermen news and notes, follow online at www.rivermen.net or through Facebook (www.facebook.com/PeoriaRivermen) - Twitter (https://twitter.com/Peoria_Rivermen)
