Look Back:

The San Jose Barracuda (5-6-0-3, 13pts, .464%) presented by Barracuda Networks chomped two out of a possible four points last week (0-0-0-2) in two road games as the season long seven game road trip continued. The Barracuda dropped a 2-1 shootout decision during a special 10:30am start in Bakersfield (AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers) on Nov 18 and finished up the week with a wild 4-3 shootout loss in Stockton on Nov 21.

San Jose is now 2-1-0-2 on the seven game road trip and 4-2-0-2 away from the SAP Center this season. The Barracuda are riding a four game point streak (2-0-0-2) with all four games decided by a single score. Four different goal scorers lit the lamp for San Jose last week as Bryan Lerg (6th), Barclay Goodrow (3rd), Scott Timmins (4th), and John McCarthy (2nd) all scored while defenseman Mark Cundari (0-2-2) was the only skater to record two points in the two games. Troy Grosenick made a career high 49 saves in the 4-3 shootout loss in Stockton on Nov 21 but the Barracuda fell 1-3 in the shootouts this season.

Nikolay Goldobin was loaned to the Barracuda from the Sharks on Nov 22 and will meet the club in Charlotte, NC. Micheal Haley, Melker Karlsson, and Mirco Mueller all remain on recall with the SJ Sharks.

The San Jose Barracuda player of the week nominee is defenseman Mark Cundari. The 25-year-old from Toronto, ON recorded two points (0-2-2), +1, with 7 shots on goal in two games with the Barracuda last week.

The San Jose Barracuda wrap up their season long seven game road trip in Charlotte, NC before returning home for a pair of games at the SAP Center this weekend vs. the Texas Stars.

MILESTONE ALERT:

Head Coach Roy Sommer (622 wins) surpassed Frank Mathers (1256 games coached) for the most games coached in AHL history on March 26, 2014 in the Sharks 5-3 win in Lewiston, ME over the Portland Pirates. Coach Sommer has coached 1358 AHL games - all with the SJ Sharks AHL affiliates. In total, Coach Sommer has been a head coach in 1,692 games in the AHL and ECHL. Coach Sommer picked up his 600th career AHL win in a 4-3 victory in Lehigh Valley on Feb 4, 2015 and surpassed Frank Mathers (610 wins) for 2nd all-time in AHL history on March 27 in Springfield with his 611th win! Roy needs 14 wins to tie Fred "Bun Cook" (636 wins) for the most wins in AHL history!

The San Jose Barracuda (5-6-0-2, 12pts) presented by Barracuda Networks dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to the host Bakersfield Condors (6-6-0-1, 13pts) in front 7,554 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Wednesday morning during a special school day game. Bryan Lerg scored in the third period for the Barracuda to force overtime while Aaron Dell made 27 saves in net as San Jose is now 2-1-0-1 on their season long seven game road trip. Marc-Olivier Roy scored a first period goal for the Condors while Laurent Brossoit made 37 saves in net and stopped all three shooters in the shootout for the win.

11.21.15 - Stockton 4 - San Jose 3 - SOL - Stockton Arena - Stockton, CA

The San Jose Barracuda (5-6-0-3, 13pts) presented by Barracuda Networks dropped a wild 4-3 shootout decision to the host Stockton Heat (5-5-0-2, 12pts) in front 6,171 fans at the Stockton Arena on Saturday evening. Troy Grosenick made 49 saves in net for the Barracuda as San Jose was able to battle back from an early 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead early in the third period. Barclay Goodrow, Scott Timmins, and John McCarthy scored for San Jose but the Barracuda fell after a wild five round shootout. Heat netminder Kevin Poulin injured himself after John McCarthy scored in the first round of the shootout and was replaced by Kent Simpson who then stopped two of the four Barracuda shooters for the victory. The Barracuda are now 2-1-0-2 on their season long seven game road and now have points in four straight games (2-0-0-2).

*Doubleheaders... the first of 13 Sharks/Barracuda doubleheaders at the SAP Center occurred on Saturday, Nov 7. The Barracuda fell to the SD Gulls (AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks) 3-2 at 1:15pm while the Sharks dropped a 1-0 game to the Ducks at 7:30pm. *High scorer in the Q... rookie Nikita Jevpalovs recorded 100 points (49-51-100) in 64 games for Blainville-Boisbriand in the QMJHL last season. The 21-year-old from Riga, Latvia has five points (2-3-5) in 14 games for the Barracuda.

*J-Mac... John McCarthy led the Worcester Sharks in points (151) and goals (63) and was tied in the franchise lead in games played (277). Coming Up for the San Jose Barracuda:

The San Jose Barracuda wrap up their season long seven game road trip in Charlotte, NC before returning home for a pair of games at the SAP Center this weekend vs. the Texas Stars.

On Tuesday, the Barracuda head to Charlotte, NC to battle the Checkers (Carolina Hurricanes AHL affiliate) with a 4pm pacific time start. Coverage begins at 3:30pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com. Fans can listen on AM 1220 KDOW on a tape delay at 8pm.

On Wednesday, the Barracuda play game seven of the seven game road trip with a 4pm pacific time start in Charlotte vs. the Checkers. Coverage begins at 3:30pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com. Fans can listen on AM 1220 KDOW on a tape delay at 8pm.

On Saturday, the Barracuda return home to host the Texas Stars (Dallas Stars AHL affiliate) with a 1:15pm start at the SAP Center on Movember Day. Several San Jose Barracuda players and staff have been growing moustaches throughout the month on November to help raise awareness for men's health issues. HERE (use code word MOVEMBER) with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Movember Foundation. In addition, all chuck-a-puck proceeds at the game will benefit the Movember Foundation and there will be several special in game promotions to highlight Movember. Doors open at 12:30pm as the San Jose Barracuda host the Texas Stars (AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars) at 1:15pm. November 28 marks the second of 13 San Jose Barracuda and San Jose Sharks doubleheaders at the SAP Center this season. The San Jose Sharks host the Calgary Flames at 7pm. Fans must have a separate ticket for both games. Coverage begins at 12:45pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.

On Sunday, the Barracuda host the Texas Stars at 3pm. Coverage begins at 2:30pm on AM 1220 KDOW, online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.
