QUACK TRACKS

Last Weekend

The Mallards went 2-1-0 while playing three games in 48 hours last weekend. The Mallards sandwiched home wins over Alaska Friday and Indy Sunday around Saturday's road loss to the Fuel.

Busy

The Mallards are in the midst of a stretch of seven games in ten days and eight games in 12 days. Wednesday night's game in Missouri is the first of four in five nights for the Mallards. Beginning Friday they will play three games in three days for a second straight weekend.

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards have won five straight home games and are unbeaten in regulation (7-0-1) in eight home games since dropping their home opener October 23 against Tulsa. Their current home winning streak is the Mallards' longest since they won eight straight Central Hockey League games at home between March 3 and March 24, 2013. Their current home regulation unbeaten streak is the Mallards' longest since they went 11 straight United Hockey League home games (9-0-2) without a regulation defeat between February 2 and March 10, 2007.

Rough Road

The Mallards have suffered four straight road losses and have gone winless (0-5-2) in seven road games since winning their season opener in Allen October 16. Their current road regulation losing streak is the Mallards' longest since they lost five straight International Hockey League away games between March 19 and April 3, 2010. Their current road winless streak is the Mallards' longest since they went eight straight away games without a win (0-4-4) between November 9 and December 5 last year.

Three in Three

The Mallards are 2-0-0 this season when playing their third game in three days. They defeated Indy yesterday after capping off their first stretch of three games in three days by defeating Wichita 5-2 on October 25.

Finishing Kick

The Mallards have outscored the opposition 9-3 in the third period of their last six games and 14-4 in the third period of their last 11 outings. For the season they have scored 20 third period goals and allowed nine.

First Blood

The Mallards have allowed the first goal in each of their last five games and have won three of those contests. On the season they are 3-6-2 when giving up the first goal and 5-0-1 when scoring first.

Arch Madness

Olivier Archambault is on a four-game point-scoring streak (1-4-5) and has 12 points (four goals and eight assists) in his last nine games. Archambault is tied for third in the ECHL in assists (13) and is tied for fourth in points (18).

The Bus

By scoring yesterday Raphael Bussieres moved into a tie for fourth in the ECHL in goals (8). Bussieres has scored five times and added four assists for nine points in his last eight games.

Iron Mike

Mike Monfredo has nine points (two goals and seven assists) in his last eight games and is now tied for the ECHL lead among defensemen in assists (12) and is third among defensemen in points (14). Monfredo has played 221 consecutive games since turning professional with the Mallards in 2012.

Between the Pipes

Steve Michalek set a team season high by making 40 saves in yesterday's win. Michalek stopped 66 of 69 shots while tending goal in both Mallard victories over the weekend. He turned aside 26 Alaska shots while giving up just two goals in Friday's win. Michalek is now tied for tenth in the ECHL in save percentage (.923). Saturday's loss in Indianapolis ended Brody Hoffman's three game winning streak, a run during which Hoffman posted a 2.35 goals against average and .917 save percentage.

Special Teams

The Mallards have gone just 2-for-15 on the power play over their last five games but still rank fifth in the ECHL on the man advantage (22.6 percent). The Mallards did score the tying and winning goals on the power play in the third period of last Friday's come-from-behind win over Alaska. The Mallards have killed off 11 of their opponents' last 12 power plays and are now tied for fifteenth in the ECHL in penalty killing (83.1 percent).

Head to Head

Friday night's game is the third of five this season between the Mallards and Mavericks. The Mallards fell 5-2 on October 27 in Missouri and suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Mavericks on November 4 at the iWireless Center. All-time, the Mallards have turned in a 23-25-5 overall record against the Mavericks and have gone 13-14-2 in Independence...Friday night's game is the first clash between the Mallards and Wings since the Mallards defeated Kalamazoo 3-2 on March 30, 2007. The Mallards and Wings competed against each other in the United Hockey League between 2000 and 2007. The Mallards went 24-19-7 in 50 meetings with the Wings over those seven seasons. They went 14-9-5 against Kalamazoo on home ice...The Mallards began their 11-game season series against the Cyclones with a 3-1 loss on November 13 in Cincinnati. Saturday night's game is the first of six between the Mallards and Cyclones at the iWireless Center. The Mallards, who suffered a pair of home losses to Cincinnati last season, are 0-3-0 all-time against the Cyclones...The Mallards have gone 1-2-0 against the Fuel this season. The home team has won each of the first three games between the two clubs. The Mallards and Fuel will clash a total of ten times this year.

Milestones

Sam Warning's first career goal proved to be the game winner in yesterday's victory over the Fuel...Olivier Archambault played his fiftieth career game last Friday against Alaska...After scoring his first goal of the season Saturday night in Indianapolis, Darren McMillan has now recorded 99 points in a Mallard uniform...Vladimir Nikiforov has 99 career ECHL points...Monfredo has 94 career points...Anthony Collins has 92 penalty minutes as a Mallard...Ryan Tesink has played 48 career games.

Ins and Outs

The Mallards signed forward/defenseman Kyle Follmer last Thursday...The Mallards released forward Collin Valcourt last Tuesday...Ryan Tesink has missed the Mallards' last five games (upper body).

Blackout Night

The Mallards will celebrate Black Friday by wearing special edition (nearly) all-black sweaters against the Kalamazoo Wings on Blackout Night Friday evening. The Mallards will don those jerseys again during their match-up with the Cincinnati Cyclones Saturday evening. The blackout jerseys will go up for bid in a live auction to benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation after Saturday night's game.

$1 Dog/$1 Beer Friday presented by 97X

Fans again this season can enjoy $1 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during all Friday home games.

MetroLINK College Night

The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

Fox Sports Radio 1230 is the radio home of Mallards Hockey Presented by Genesis Power Sports Performance. Mallards games broadcast on AM 1230 also stream live online at www.wfxn.net. A limited number of Mallards games will not air on Fox Sports Radio 1230- including the Mallards' game Friday against Kalamazoo- due to conflicts with University of Illinois basketball and football and Green Bay Packer football. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period.
