The Jackals Thanksgiving holiday will be sandwiched around a home-and-home set with the Adirondack Thunder. On Wednesday, the Jackals will pay their first ever visit to the Glens Falls Civic Center and put their three-game winning streak on the line against the East Division-leading Thunder. Elmira and Adirondack met once previously this season on Opening Night as their rivalry, stretching back to the United Hockey League days, was renewed. The Thunder struck first and capitalized twice on the power-play, eventually stretching their lead to four before Scott Jacklin scored his first professional goal in the third period. Chris Langkow and Mike Seidel also recorded a point in the 4-1 loss. Wednesday's meeting marks the second of 11 meetings this season and the first of five in Glens Falls.

11/29 at Brampton Beast - 2:00 p.m. EST

Home vs. BRM 1-1-0, Away vs. BRM 0-0-0

On Sunday, the Jackals venture north of the border for the first time this season as they meet the Brampton Beast at the Powerade Centre. This meeting marks the third of 11 overall and the first of five in Brampton. The Jackals visited the Powerade Centre three times last season and finished with a 2-1-0 mark. Allan McPherson led the Jackals with five assists in the two victories over the Beast. This season, Elmira hosted Brampton twice, splitting the contests 4-2 and 4-1. In the first meeting, Cason Hohmann, Mike Seidel, Allan McPherson and Matt Garbowsky scored for Elmira while Sam Marotta stopped 19 shots to earn the victory. Brampton's win on November 14th marked its first ever win at First Arena. The Jackals all-time record versus Brampton is 6-2-0.

Recapping Last Week:

11/18 at Manchester Monarchs: W 2-1

Niklas Lundstrom made 46 saves in his debut with the Jackals, who received goals from Spiro Goulakos and Scott Jacklin en route to a 2-1 victory.

The first period was a penalty filled affair as there were seven minors called. On their second power play chance, the Jackals broke the ice as Spiro Goulakos tapped in his second goal of the season following a beautiful pass from the slot by Justin Bernhardt at the 9:32 mark. The teams traded power plays for the remainder of the period with both penalty kill units doing an effective job.

In the second period, it became evident that Niklas Lundstrom would be the primary story of the contest. As Manchester peppered the net with 22 shots in the second period, Lundstrom helped keep the Jackals in front. At the 14:15 mark, Scott Jacklin, who was playing in his first game since November 10, scored his third goal of the season off the rebound of a Mark Bennett shot, who earned his second assist of the year. One minute and fifteen seconds later, the Monarchs broke Lundstrom's shutout bid as Derek Arnold scored off a rebound to bring Manchester within one. It would be all that Lundstrom would give up.

The third period turned into the Niklas Lundstrom Show, as the young Swede making his Jackals' debut, turned aside all 18 shots he faced in the period. Each of his saves were necessary as the Jackals would not score in the third period either. Thanks to Lundstrom's brilliance, the Jackals held on for a 2-1 victory, snapping a two game losing streak.

Niklas Lundstrom made 46 saves on 47 shots to earn the win in his first game as a Jackal, while Colin Stevens made 17 saves on 19 shots for the Monarchs, and was saddled with the loss.

11/20 at Reading Royals: W 5-4

Justin Bernhardt scored twice, including the game-winning goal, as the Jackals out-gunned the Royals 5-4 on Friday night at Santander Arena. Nathan Oystrick added three helpers, while Colin Jacobs and Chris Langkow, who was playing in his 300th professional game, notched two assists apiece.

The Royals opened the scoring quickly as former Jackal Maxim Lamarche wristed a shot through traffic from the point past C.J. Motte just 30 seconds into the game. Elmira promptly answered just over two minutes later as Allan McPherson slammed his second goal of the season through the legs of Connor Knapp at 2:43 of the first frame. Cason Hohmann and Colin Jacobs recorded the assists on McPherson's tying tally. However, the Royals would regain the lead at 12:40 of the period as Riley Armstrong, another former Jackal, capitalized on the power-play on a play along the goal-line assisted by Robbie Czarnik and Kevin Young. The back-and-forth would continue as the Jackals knotted the contest again in the first period. On a five-on-three power-play, Colin Jacobs played the puck up to Nathan Oystrick and the captain fed it over to Spiro Goulakos who blasted a slap shot past Knapp to tie the game at 15:04. The pesky pack struck again and took the lead just 12 seconds later while still on the power-play. Off of the ensuing face-off, Oystrick quickly moved the puck along to Chris Langkow who made a cross-ice pass to Justin Bernhardt streaking down the left-wing side for the backhand-forehand bury between Knapp's legs.

The Jackals led heading into the second period, but Reading answered at 9:18 to equal the score once more. Adam Comrie fired his team-leading eighth goal of the season past Motte, assisted by Armstrong and Cam Reid. Less than three minutes later, the Jackals responded and regained the lead. Mark Bennett and Nathan Oystrick forced a turnover at the blue line and Oystrick found Scott Jacklin all alone in the slot for his fourth goal of the season. Late in the second period, Justin Bernhardt provided the dagger with a whistling wrist shot from the high slot with 43 seconds left in the stanza for his second goal of the night and third of the season. Chris Langkow earned the lone helper.

Reading pushed late in the third period and cut the deficit back down to one with Robbie Czarnik's seventh goal of the season at 18:28. Armstrong and Lamarche added the assists. However, the late tally was as far as the Royals' comeback bid went as the Jackals fended off the final effort of desperation to take two points from their division rival.

C.J. Motte stopped 20 of 24 shots faced to earn the win. Connor Knapp allowed five goals on 17 shots in two periods and was handed the loss. Alex Vazzano stopped all six shots faced in the third period.

11/21 vs. Reading Royals: W 5-4

Cason Hohmann scored twice as the Jackals received multi-point efforts from four different players en route to a 5-4 victory and a weekend sweep over the Reading Royals.

Similar to last night in Reading, the Royals jumped out with the game's first tally. Jordan Heywood walked over the blueline and blasted a slap shot past Niklas Lundstrom on the power-play at 16:03.

The Jackals responded early in the second period and knotted the game at 1-1 just 5:56 into the frame. Jacob MacDonald fed a pass up the left-wing side to Scott Jacklin, who laid a beautiful pass onto the stick of Chris Langkow for the tip-in past Connor Knapp. Less than three minutes later the Jackals struck again as Cason Hohmann buried a shot from the right-wing circle past the far pad of Knapp at 8:55 of the second period. Nick Petrecki and Jacob MacDonald assisted Hohmann's fifth goal of the season. Elmira added to its lead at 13:58 of the frame when Todd Perry coughed the puck up deep in the Reading end and Mark Bennett backhanded it over the sprawling Knapp for his first professional goal. The Jackals continued to pile on the offense less than two minutes later as Tyler Currier popped in his fifth goal of the season, assisted by Scott Jacklin and Nick Petrecki.

The Royals cut the Jackals lead down to two just 1:29 into the third period as Kevin Young fired a shot from the point through Lundstrom's five-hole. However, it didn't take long for the Jackals to regain their three-goal advantage, when Cason Hohmann hammered home the rebound at 3:15 for his sixth goal of the season. Colin Jacobs and Spiro Goulakos added the helpers on Hohmann's second goal of the night. Reading answered at 10:32 with a power-play marker from former Jackal Yannick Tifu and again at 18:38 with the extra attacker on the ice and Mike Pereira scoring on a backdoor rebound, but the Jackals would stave off the final Reading rush and hold on to win 5-4.

Niklas Lundstrom stopped 31 of 35 shots faced for his second win in as many tries with the Jackals. Connor Knapp allowed five goals on 28 shots and was saddled with the loss.
