St. John's IceCaps News Release


BIG LEAGUES: After Sven Andrighetto's first star performance Friday evening, the forward was called up to the Montreal Canadiens. Assistant captain Bud Holloway also got the call on Sunday morning to join the Habs.

GOALIE SWAP: Netminder Dustin Tokarski was reassigned to the IceCaps after being recalled to Montreal. Tokarski played in one game during his stint with the Canadiens. Goaltender Eddie Pasquale was assigned to the Brampton Beast of the ECHL following Tokarski's arrival.

REGULATION PERFECTION: St. John's remains unbeaten in regulation at home, with a record of 6-0-3-1 for a 10-game point streak at Mile One.

Sven Andrighetto buried two goals, including the overtime winner, as the St. John's IceCaps topped the Syracuse Crunch at Mile One Centre. Andrighetto held the puck on a two-on-one and fired a slapshot past Crunch goaltender Adam Wilcox to deliver the win just 50 seconds into the extra frame.

Syracuse Crunch came away victorious in overtime to split the series at Mile One Centre. Matt Taormina snapped a shot past Zach Fucale at 3:03 of the overtime period. Fucale was solid in goal for the IceCaps, stopping 32-of-34 shots. Gabriel Dumont scored the lone goal for St. John's in the second period, his third of the season. Jeff Tambellini replied just over a minute later for Syracuse to even the score.
