Dashers Shoot Their Way to A 3-1 Win

The Dashers avenged their first loss of the season from last night, as they beat the Dayton Demolition tonight.

The Dashers fast pace was to much for Dayton to overcome, as the Dashers grossly outshot the Demolition. Danville had 41 shots the Dayton's 21. Daniel Turgeon led the way for the Dashers with six shots on goal, and Brent Clarke added five of his own. Turgeon and Clake both scored for Danville, and Justin Brausen also added a goal for Danville.

Matt Anthony picked up the win for Danville, after putting in a solid night of work, turning away 20 of the 21 shots he faced. Bryan Haude got the loss for Dayton, even though he played a solid game.

Martin Unnak picked up the lone Dayton goal, after the Demolition caught Danville in a bad change.

The Dashers had 30 minutes on 8 infractions, and the Demolition had 16 minutes on 5 infractions.

The Danville Dashers are next in action, Wednesday, November 25th against the Port Huron Prowlers from the David S. Palmer Arena.

Danbury Downs Brewster, 8-2

The Danbury Titans defeated the Brewster Bulldogs by a score of 8-2 to complete the sweep of the weekend.

After a tightly contested first ten minutes of the game, Tyler Gjurich got the Titans on the board putting home a loose rebound. Just 27 seconds later, Matt Caranci's shot from the high slot floated through some bodies and eluded the blocker of Bulldogs goaltender James Robbins. Tyler Gjurich tallied again before Marcus Mitchell scored late in the period on the power play to get Brewster on the board.

The scoring continued less than a minute into the second period as Gjurich got a hat trick. Tight checking brought back and forth action as the game got more physical. Brewster brought the deficit back to two as Mike Zannella finished off a 3 on 2 rush. The rest of the period saw goaltender Nick Niedert make several saves to keep the Titans' lead at two.

In the third period the Titans blew the game wide open. Dean Yakura's floater found its way to the back of the net from the blue line. From there it was all Titans as Mike Driscoll, Brett Liscomb, & John Scorcia tallied to give the Titans a 8-2 win over Brewster.

Nick Niedert finished the game with 28 saves to get the win. Robbins stopped 33 of 39 shots before being relieved by Mike Pearless who gave up two goals on three shots.

The Danbury Titans' next home game will be Friday December 4th when the Port Huron Prowlers make their first visit to Danbury. The following night the first place Danville Dashers come in. Tickets are available by visiting www.danburytitans.com or calling 844-DTHOCKEY.
