B-Sens Fall 6-4 in Toronto

TORONTO, ONT. - The Binghamton Senators fell 6-4 to the Toronto Marlies in their third meeting this season.

Kasperi Kapanen opened the scoring for the night less than a minute into the period off a power-play goal following Mark Fraser's hooking call. Colin Greening put the B-Sens on the board with his fourth goal of the year just over eight minutes into the first period with Chris Carlisle picking up the lone assist. Eric O'Dell brought the score to 2-1 just over 10 minutes later with his seventh goal of the year with Cole Schneider picking up his first assist of the night. The B-Sens took the 2-1 lead to the locker room along with leading the shots 10-4.

Toronto came out for the second period ready to make a come back scoring three goals in just under four and a half minutes. William Nylander scored his tenth goal of the year followed by Richard Panik picking up his fourth and Mark Arcobello getting his seventh. The B-Sens went into the final intermission trailing 4-2 and being outshot 22-10 in the middle frame.

Fredrik Claesson brought it to a one-goal game 11:41 in the final period of play. Claesson waited patiently on the power play and snapped home a wrister with Zack Stortini and Matt Puempel picking up assists. Toronto answered with another goal a little less than five minutes later after Brendan Leipsic put him his third of the year making the score 5-3. Ryan Dzingel brought the game back into reach for the B-Sens with 53 seconds remaining, but Stuart Percy secured the win with an empty net goal just as time expired pushing the final score to 6-4.

Antoine Bibeau finished the night with 31 saves to earn the win while Chris Driedger had 34 saves in the losing effort.

Binghamton returns to home ice Wednesday, November 25, when they see the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:05p.m. for the team's annual Pre-Thanksgiving Game presented by the Oakdale Mall.
