Tulsa Oilers News Release

BACK-TO-BACK

The Oilers and Americans face off for the second night in a row and for the sixth time this season. Tulsa holds a 3-2 edge in the season series and a 16-10 advantage in total goals scored. The Oilers are seeking a weekend sweep of the Americans after posting a 6-1 victory at the Allen Event Center on Saturday night.

THE ROUT WAS ON

Last night in Allen, the Oilers jumped in front of the Americans just one minute into the contest and cruised to a convincing 6-1 road win. Adam Pleskach recorded the Oilers' first hat-trick of the season and defenseman Dennis Brown chipped in three assists to help the Oilers to their highest offensive output of the season and their largest margin of victory. Six players finished the night with multiple points as the Oilers snapped a five-game winless streak and moved into third place in the Central Division standings.

THREE IN ONE

Third-year winger Adam Pleskach posted the fourth hat-trick of his career on Saturday and scored his first three goals of the 2015-16 season. The 27-year old redirected a shot past Allen goalie Riley Gill in the first period, finished off a pass from Jordan Kremyr just 30 seconds into the second period, and completed his hat-trick in the latter stages of the middle frame by backhanding a rebound over Gill's pad to give the Oilers a 5-0 lead. Pleskach, who led the Oilers with 41 goals last season, leads this year's squad with 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) through the first 13 games.

FLOOD GATES OPENING?

In the third period against Missouri on Friday, the Oilers scored three goals in a single period for the first time this season and carried the offensive momentum into Allen on Saturday with three first period strikes against the Americans. The Oilers have hit the back of the net ten times in the last two games after scoring only eight total goals in the previous five contests.

CASHING IN

The Oilers scored on a 5-on-3 power play and a 4-on-3 power play in Saturday's win over the Americans and have now tallied four power play goals in their last three games.

NEW FACE

Rookie forward Alex Grieve played his first game in Tulsa colors on Saturday night. The 25-year old skated in three games last season for the Quad City Mallards and appeared in three games this season for the Alaska Aces before being claimed off waivers by the Oilers this week.

WALKER RETURNED

Forward Ben Walker has been re-assigned to Tulsa from the Manitoba Moose. Walker, who posted one goal, and two assists for the Oilers in seven games, made two appearances for the Moose and registered two penalty minutes to go along with a +1 rating.

OIL DROPS

Newly acquired forward Emerson Clark has three points (2 goals, 1 assist) through his first two games as an Oiler...The Oilers set a new season high with 32 shots on goal on Saturday in Allen...Tulsa captain Nathan Lutz played in his 850th career game on Friday against Missouri.
