TULSA, OK - The Missouri Mavericks claimed their seventh straight win with a 5-4 overtime victory over the Tulsa Oilers on Friday night. Rocco Carzo scored the game-winning goal with his first tally of the season to boost the Mavericks up another two points on top of the ECHL standings.

Sebastien Sylvestre scored first for the Mavericks, notching the opening goal 6:38 into play with the help ofTrevor Ludwig and Andrew Courtney. The Oilers answered back at 17:28 via Emmerson Clark to tie the game up 1-1. Tom Kroshus and Phil Brewer assisted on the play.

Missouri took a significant step ahead of the Oilers in the second period with back-to-back goals from Kellen Jones and Tyler Barnes. First Jones found the back of the net of a perfect set-up from teammate Jesse Rootin the crease at 4:34, and later Barnes landed the 3-1 lead for Missouri with a power-play goal at 10:35 with the help of Root and Kane Lafranchise.

Sylvestre added his name to the scoresheet again at 7:01 of the third frame when he scored his fourth goal of the season for the Mavs. Both Jones and Josh Holmstrom were credited with the helpers on the play.

Trailing 4-1, the Oilers made an impressive come-back that was sparked by the quick turnaround goal of Christophe Lalancette only fiftteen seconds after Sylvestre's tally. Tulsa went on to score two more unanswered goals by Jordan Kremyr (12:28) and Phil Brewer (18:28) to tie the game and force an overtime decision. Brewer's goal came unassisted with an extra attacker on the ice for the Oilers.

The last time the Mavericks and Oilers battled it out at the BOK Center, the Mavericks were edged 4-3 in the shootout, the only blemish on net-minder Josh Robinson's now 8-0-0-1 record. Robinson held strong between the pipes through the start of the high-energy three-on-three overtime period, absorbing all the efforts of the Oilers to keep his team in the game until Rocco Carzo scored the game-winning goal at 2:37 of the extra frame to seal another win for the Mavs.

Carzo's first goal of the season could not have come at a better time, and teammate Tyler Barnes assisted on the play. Missouri's seventh straight victory since Nov. 4th improves their league-leading record to 12-2-0-1; the Mavs best start to a season in franchise history.

The Missouri Mavericks play their next game on the road against the Wichita Thunder tomorrow night (Saturday, Nov. 21) at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05p.m.
