November 19, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Evansville IceMen News Release

LEFT THE FAWCETT ON

5'7 forward Tyson Fawcett, who was an ECHL All-Star last season from Brampton, has three goals in his last four games for Evansville. The Barrie, Ontario native leads the IceMen with five goals this season and scored twice in the third period Wednesday against Alaska in Evansville's 6-2 loss to the Aces at the Ford Center. The speedy winger loves playing at the Ford Center where he has scored four of his five goals.

DUST-IN TIME

As an emergency call-up, goaltender Dustin Carlson arrived in Evansville just hours before the start of Wednesday's game against Alaska. The 29-year-old from Forest Lake, MN was brought in to backup Keegan Asmundson after Scott Greenham was recalled by the AHL's Binghamton Senators and rookie Christoffer Bengtsberg suffered a lower-body injury in Wheeling Sunday. However, with Evansville trailing 4-0 midway through the second period, Carlson was unexpectedly thrust into action and finished the game with ten saves on 12 Aces shots.

SOLAR POWER

The Orlando Solar Bears come to Evansville Friday for the only meeting this season with the IceMen at 7:15pm at the Ford Center. Orlando comes into the game with a 7-3-1-1 record, which is good for second in the strong South Division behind the Florida Everblades, who have played four more games. The Solar Bears have played three straight games that have gone into overtime or a shootout, including a shootout win Saturday at South Carolina and an overtime victory Tuesday at Greenville. Four Orlando players have recorded double-digit points in the team's first 12 games, including the forward trio of Brady Vail, Brett Findlay and Jack Rodewald, and defenseman Eric Baier.

WALL FLAG GIVEAWAY

The first 3,000 fans into the Ford Center Friday night receive an IceMen Wall Flag. Gates open at 6pm. The Evansville IceMen front office is also putting on a special Friday Night Hat Pack for that game only. Fans who purchase the hat pack through an IceMen Account Executive receive a ticket to the game and an IceMen hat for just $20. This is the only time that there will be no group minimum when taking advantage of this special offer. Call 812-421-GOAL (4625) for more information.

BROADCAST CHANGE FRIDAY

For those unable to attend Friday's game, the IceMen encourage fans to head to ECHL.TV for the video broadcast. Solar Bears broadcaster Jesse Liebman will have the call. Orlando's radio broadcast can also be heard on www.iheartsolarbears.com or www.969thegame.iheart.com. (Saturday's game will again be broadcast on www.evansvilleicemen.com) WINGING IT

Kalamazoo travels to Evansville Saturday for the first of two meetings with the IceMen at the Ford Center at 7:15pm. The Wings won on their home ice November 13 the last time the two teams met. Evansville battled back from a 2-0 deficit that night to tie the game early in the third period thanks to goals by Tyson Fawcett and Chris Rumble. But Kalamazoo broke the 2-2 tie and added an empty-net goal to win 4-2. Saturday is Prostate Cancer Awareness Night at the Ford Center and the IceMen will wear specialty jerseys which will be auctioned off after the game with money raised going to the Deaconess Foundation.

SPECIAL GUEST: DAVE CHRISTIAN - 1980 MIRACLE ON ICE

Sponsored by Deaconess Cancer Center and Vantage Oncology, Dave Christian will be in Evansville this weekend and is the guest of honor Saturday when the IceMen take on the Wings. Christian was a member of the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" United States Olympic Team, and will be signing autographs before the game and during the intermissions.
