Hitmen Tally Two in Third to Pull away from Prince George

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen ran their winning streak to three games with a 3-1 victory over the Prince George Cougars on Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Jake Bean and Layne Bensmiller scored goals 69 seconds apart to snap a 1-1 tie early in the third period.

Calgary Flames prospect Keegan Kanzig had the other Hitmen marker after Jansen Harkins had opened the scoring for Prince George.

The Hitmen dominated play in the final 40 minutes scoring three unanswered goals while outshooting the Cougars 29-9.

Overall Calgary outshot Prince George 38-15.

The loss drops the Cougars record to 10-9-1-0 while the win keeps the Hitmen within a single point of the Lethbridge Hurricanes for second place in the Central Division.

Calgary, 12-10-0-1, continues their five-game homestand on Saturday, Nov. 21 against the Everett Silvertips. Game time is 7:00 p.m. (Sportsnet 960-The Fan).

The Hitmen will then host the Saskatoon Blades on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 4:00 p.m. for Sunday Funday, presented by Booster Juice and McKnight 24 Hour Veterinary Hospital (Sportsnet 960-The Fan). The game features face painters and a post-game family skate. All participants 18 and under are required to wear a helmet. A special kids ticket price of $7.50 (plus applicable fees) for children 12 and under is offered for all Sunday Funday games.
