OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC today announced that the NASL's best goalkeeper, Romuald Peiser, will remain with the club through 2017. Peiser captured the Golden Glove Award last week as the NASL's top goalkeeper following a record-setting season.

"Romuald has been a tremendous asset to our club and we're thrilled that he will return for another two seasons," said Fury FC President John Pugh.

"His experience and leadership were major factors in our success this season. The work ethic and professionalism that Romuald brings to our club is something for all players to aspire to."

In 2015, Peiser shattered several NASL records. The veteran French keeper compiled a 648-minute scoreless streak, earned six consecutive shutouts, 14 shutouts overall, and 15 victories -- all league records. He finished the season with a 0.76 goals against average (tying the best mark set in the NASL's Modern Era) after playing in 29 league matches and allowing only 22 goals spread over 2,610 minutes.

"I am very happy to be staying in Ottawa and returning to Fury FC for the next two years," said Peiser. "We have built something special here and I look forward to what we can achieve in the seasons to come."

Peiser was named to the NASL's Team of the Week six times in 2015 and was honored as the Player of the Month twice as Fury FC put together a streak in which they lost only one match over a 26-game stretch from early May through to the Championship Semifinal.
