Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that forward Collin Peters has been named to the 2015 U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete at the 2015 World Junior A Challenge, December 13-19 in Ontario, Canada. Last year, the team went 3-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) and captured their sixth title in seven years.
Peters is currently in his second season with the Stampede and ranks second on the team in scoring with 15 points (7g, 8a) and a plus-6 rating in 16 games this season. The Sheboygan, Wisconsin native was acquired from the Stampede in a trade with Muskegon last year and went on to record 11 points (6g, 5a) in 28 games with the Herd. He would help lead the club to their second Clark Cup championship title in team history. Prior to joining the Stampede, Peters tallied 45 points (34g, 11a) in just 14 games with Sheboygan High School in Wisconsin. He has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Northern Michigan University.
All 20 players on the USA roster are currently playing in the USHL. There is at least one player from 12 of the 17 teams in the USHL roster. Team USA will be in Group B and face Canada West and The Czech Republic. Canada East, Russia and Switzerland are in Group A. USA will open play on December 14th at 6 PM (Central) against the Czech Republic. They will then face Canada West on December 15th. The tournament will conclude on December 19th with the Gold Medal game at 3 PM (Central).

December 11th: USA vs Canada East (Exhibition Game) 6:30 PM
December 14th: USA vs Czech Republic 6 PM
December 15th: USA vs Canada West 6 PM
December 16th: Quarterfinal game
December 17th: Semifinal
December 18th: 5th place & Bronze Medal games
December 19th: Gold Medal game
The Stampede return to action this weekend for a two-game series in Kearney, Nebraska against the Tri-City Storm. Game time Friday is 7:30 PM and 7 PM on Saturday. Fans can hear both games live on KELO News Talk 1320-AM, 107.9-FM and online at KELO.COM.
