Alaska Aces News Release

CINCINNATI, OHIO -The Cincinnati Cyclones scored one goal in each period as they defeated the Alaska Aces 3-1 in front of a kids Field Trip Day of over 6,000 at the US Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati.

Christian Minella got the Cyclones going scoring wise after an evenly-played first period. He took a splendid centering pass from Nick Huard out of the left corner and snapped a wrister from the slot top shelf, glove side past Alaska goaltender Troy Redmann at 19:20. Cincinnati (8-2-1-1) outshot the Aces (4-9-0-2) 10-9 in the period.

Cincinnati scored a disputed goal in the second period. With the Aces Garet Hunt off on a roughing penalty, the puck was poked into the net on a rebound shot that Redmann thought he had corralled and held long enough and heard a whistle. After consultation with the linesmen, the referee Andrea Barone counted the goal and the second period ended with the Cyclones enjoying a 2-0 lead.

Peter Quenneville gave Cincinnati a 3-0 lead at 17:25 of the third period, converting a centering pass from Joe Pendenza into a one-time bullet.

Alaska got the goose egg off the scoreboard with 48.9 seconds to go with William Wrenn's slap shot from the right point, his first goal of the season, assisted by Hunt and Tyler Maxwell.

Redmann finished with 23 saves for Alaska. Brad Thiessen had 30 saves for the Cyclones.

The Aces now make their way to Evansville, Indiana for a Wednesday night matchup with the Icemen.

The Aces return home for a three-game series with Evansville starting Friday, November 27. Get your tickets by stopping by the Aces ticket office Monday through Friday from 9-5 at 15th and Gambell, or go online at www.alaskaaces.com.
