Florida Everblades Forward Mike Aviani and Forward Carter Sandlak with the Charlotte Checkers

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades announced Monday that forward Mike Aviani (pictured left) has been loaned to the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League. In addition, forward Carter Sandlak (pictured right) has been reassigned to the Everblades from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
Aviani, 22, heads to San Jose after an impressive start to the 2015-16 season. The second year pro has posted 15 points (8g, 6a) in 15 games played this season with the Everblades. Aviani's eight goals are tied for second most in the ECHL. Last season, Aviani totaled 25 points (10g, 15a) in 54 games during his rookie campaign with Florida. The 5-11, 195-pound center also logged two points (1g, 1a) in six playoff appearances with Florida last spring. Aviani started the 2014-15 season appearing in two games with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. The Surrey, BC native amassed 205 points during his five seasons with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 2009-2014. Aviani recorded a career-best 81 points (38g, 43a) campaign in 2013-14.
Sandlak, 22, is scoreless in five games played with Charlotte this season, but registered four points (2g, 2a) with 69 penalty minutes in 44 appearances with the Checkers last season. The 6-2 205-pound winger logged three assists in three appearances with the Everblades last season. The Vancouver, BC native posted 48 points (24g, 24a) in 61 games played with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) last season. Sandlak totaled 122 points during his five seasons played in the Ontario Hockey League (2001-2014) in stints with Guelph, Belleville, and Plymouth
