Hicks Named Sons of Hockey Star of the Week

Syracuse, NY - The Federal Hockey League announced today that Port Huron Prowlers forward Jared Hicks has been selected as the Sons of Hockey Star of the Week for the period ending Nov. 15, 2015.

Hicks tallied four goals and two assists for six points in two weekend games, helping the Prowlers take two games over the Dayton Demolition this weekend.

Hicks established himself in his first game of the weekend with five points on Friday night, scoring a hat trick and assisting on two others as Port Huron rolled past Dayton, 11-2. Jared also recorded Port Huron's first goal on Saturday to help the Prowlers in a 7-6 overtime comeback win over the Demolition.

A 23-year-old native of Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Hicks tied for third in FHL scoring in 2014-15 with 82 points, giving him 27 goals and 55 assists in 56 regular-season games.

Hicks is the first Port Huron player to be named Sons of Hockey Star of the Week.
