PROMOTIONS/EVENTS

"Canes Crush Cancer" Month: The Hurricanes "Canes Crush Cancer" month helps raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Special "Canes Crush Cancer" t-shirts will be sold for $20.00 with the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Special "Canes Crush Cancer" Jersey Auction: At the last home game of the month on November 27th, the Hurricanes will be donning a special "Canes Crush Cancer" jersey. The jerseys will be available for purchase through silent auction which will take place throughout the entire month on the concourse; all proceeds earned during the silent auction will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

"Canes Crush Cancer" Ticket Special: The Hurricanes are offering a special ticket promo during the month of November. For just $30.00, you can purchase two tickets to any game in November (can be used at the same game or individual games). For every $30.00 purchase, $5.00 will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Season Tickets on Spinzo: The Hurricanes are excited to offer a unique season ticket buying opportunity for fans. "Cougar Night": Friday night at the ENMAX Centre will be "Cougar Night". The Hurricanes will welcome the Prince George Cougars and invite you to bring your mom to the game and take advantage of the 2 tickets for $30.

Unused Season Ticket Exchange: Wednesday is the second Unused Season Ticket Exchange of the season. Bring any unused season tickets to the ENMAX Centre Ticket Centre and exchange them for a ticket to the game for a nominal fee.

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Friday, November 13th - 4-2 Loss at Moose Jaw: The Hurricanes had their two game winning streak snapped with a 4-2 loss to the Warriors on Friday. Tyler Wong and Cory Millette scored in the loss.

Saturday, November 14th - 4-1 Loss at Brandon: Despite a strong road game by the Hurricanes it was the Wheat Kings that took a 4-1 victory. The 'Canes entered the third period tied, but a shorthanded goal and two empty netters helped the Wheaties to the win. Egor Babenko scored the lone goal.

Sunday, November 15th - 5-3 Loss at Regina: The Hurricanes completed a three-in-three weekend with their sixth straight road loss dropping a heartbreaking 5-3 loss to the Pats. The 'Canes had two third period leads by Regina clawed back to tie before scoring the winner with just 1:26 left in regulation.

THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE

Wednesday, November 18th - 7:00pm vs. Everett: The Hurricanes return home to kick off a five-game home stand Wednesday at the ENMAX Centre against the Everett Silvertips. The 'Tips are off to a strong start to the season battling Spokane for second in the US Division.

The Hurricanes will be raising awareness of Testicular Cancer. T-Shirts available on the concourse for $20 (proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society).

Friday, November 20th - 7:00pm vs. Prince George: The Hurricanes look for payback when they host the Cougars on Friday night on "Cougar Night" at the ENMAX Centre. The 'Canes dropped a 4-3 decision to PG on November 2nd . The 'Canes beat the Cougars 7-4 at home last year.

The Hurricanes will be raising awareness of Liver Cancer. T-Shirts available on the concourse for $20 (proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society).

Saturday, November 21st - 7:00pm vs. Saskatoon (Sponsored by ENMAX): The 'Canes host the much improved Blades on Saturday night. Lethbridge won all four games last year against Saskatoon. The Blades are currently battling with Regina and Swift Current for positioning in a Wild Card playoff spot.

The Hurricanes will be raising awareness of Skin Cancer. T-Shirts available on the concourse for $20 (proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society).

NEWS & NOTES

The Right Prescription: It's been a tough go for the Hurricanes on the road as of late, but Wednesday they kick off a five game home stand. The Hurricanes have been terrific on home ice this season. The 'Canes have won six straight games at the ENMAX Centre and are an impressive 7-1-0-0 this season on home ice.

Chunky Schedule: The Hurricanes just completed a three week span that saw them play 10 out of 13 games on the road where they logged roughly 7,650 kilometres in that span. In the 10 road games, the Hurricanes posted a record of 4-6-0-0. The Hurricanes now kick off a span of game that will see them play eight of the next nine at the ENMAX Centre.

PK Boiling: Over their last 12 games, the Hurricanes have been lights out on the penalty kill. The Hurricanes in their last dozen outings have allowed just six power play goals against killing off an impressive 39/45, a kill percentage of 86.7%. The 'Canes have only allowed two power play goals against in their last five games and have killed of nine consecutive penalties taken heading into Wednesday's game against Everett.

Offense from the Defense: Second year rearguard Andrew Nielsen has been outstanding to start the season. The third round pick of the Toronto Maple Leafs in June has record 22 points (7g-15a) in the first 20 games of the season. The 19-year-old from Red Deer is on pace to score 79 points this season.

Nielsen is currently tied with Victoria's Joe Hickets and Calgary's Travis Sanheim for tops in WHL scoring amongst defenseman.
