Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Remi Laurencelle and Dawson Leedahl (both with multi point games) nearly broke a franchise record with goals just seven seconds apart, while Carter Hart registered his seventh career shutout to help the Everett Silvertips cruise to a 4-0 victory over the Swift Current Broncos before 5,197 fans at XFINITY Arena on Saturday.

Jon Martin, the WHL's leading goal scorer with 21 snipes, was held scoreless which also ended his six-game road scoring streak. Devon Skoleski paired a goal and an assist to put the game away in the third period, while the Silvertips won for the fifth time in the last six games.

Everett's top line generated a look in front for Laurencelle, set up by Leedahl and Carson Stadnyk from the right boards, at 3:13 for a 1-0 lead. On the ensuing face-off, Stadnyk feathered a pass to Leedahl, already bursting into the Swift Current zone at top speed. He uncorked a wrister that beat goalie Travis Child from the left circle for a 2-0 lead, forcing the Broncos to burn their timeout after the Silvertips scored on their first two shots.

The rally nearly tied the Silvertips franchise record set last season against Kamloops (two goals in six seconds).

Hart's busiest workload was in the second period where he made 10 saves, including a high-riser from St. Louis Blues prospect Glenn Gawdin which stung Hart - but he remained in the game.

The Silvertips continued to storm the Swift Current net but were unable to crack through again until the third period on a beautiful power-play set up. Skoleski, cradling Kevin Davis' cross-ice pass at the top of the right circle, wired a backdoor pass to Laurencelle, who snuck the re-direction past Child's blocker for a 3-0 cushion at 13:33.

Skoleski then closed the scoring on a rebound goal, set up by Tristen Pfeifer's blueline shot with 49 seconds left.

Child, giving veteran Landon Bow the night off, made 31 saves.
