Daccord and Drevitch Help Lumberjacks Complete Sweep
November 14, 2015 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
Fargo, ND - Joey Daccord recorded his first career shutout, and Logan Drevitch scored his first career goal as the Muskegon Lumberjacks won their fourth straight game 1-0.
Lumberjacks goaltender Joey Daccord fought off early pressure from the Fargo Force, and made ten saves in the first period. The Lumberjacks had nine shots on Force goaltender Ryan Wischow, but were unable to put anything in the back of the net, and the game remained scoreless through twenty minutes of play.
The second period featured more pressure from the Force, but Daccord made plenty of big saves to keep the game scoreless. With over four minutes to go in the period, Collin Adams came streaking down the right boards and left the puck for Robbie DeMontis. After Robbie DeMontis picked up the puck, he found Logan Drevitch in the slot, who blasted a wrist shot in the back of the net for his first career USHL goal. The Lumberjacks took a 1-0 lead into the locker room after the second period.
The Lumberjacks killed one penalty in the third period, and Daccord completed his 27 save night as the Lum- berjacks picked up the 1-0 win over the Force. The Lumberjacks (6-6) registered their fourth consecutive win and improved to 5-1 on the road this season.
The Lumberjacks will return home for a weekend series with the Eastern Conference leading Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Lumberjacks will support local Muskegon Veterans on Friday, November 20th, for Military Appre- ciation Night. On Saturday, November 21st, L.C. Walker Arena will feature plenty of family fun when the Lum- berjacks host Faith and Family night sponsored by JQ99.
