This weekend certainly hasn't been kind to the Guelph Storm.

Dropping their third straight game, the Storm fell behind early to the Sarnia Sting, who put up a 3-0 lead before the halfway point of the opening period.

Guelph could never get much of anything going on the night, eventually being shutout in the 7-0 loss.

Similar to that of Friday night's beginning in London, the Storm were facing another quick deficit on Saturday night, with the Sting jumping ahead with three goals through the opening ten minutes of play.

Pavel Zacha got things going just short of the five-minute mark of the first, putting one short side to open the scoring.

Less than a minute later at the 5:28 point, Davis Brown recorded his second of the season with a sharp wrist shot to make it 2-0 in favour of the home squad.

A minute and a half later it would be Patrick White capitalizing off a rebound to give the Sting a comfortable 3-0 lead before the period had hit the halfway point.

Next, Sarnia would take advantage with special teams play, first with Liam Stevens receiving a two-minute holding penalty at the 13:17 point of the first. Just over a minute into the power play, Zacha recorded his second of the game, putting the Sting up 4-0 on the scoreboard.

20 seconds after Sarnia's fifth marker, Brock Philips would be given a two-minute minor for slashing. Taking advantage once again, and going 2/2 in the opening frame on the power play, the Sting pocketed their fifth tally as Jordan Kyrou found the back of the net on the wrap around.

To close out the first, Kyrou put up his second of the game with less than two minutes remaining, giving the Sting a 6-0 lead heading into the second period.

Following a scoreless second period, the Sting would add one more to make it a 7-0 final in the final 20 minutes. Connor Schlichting, scoring his first of the 2015-16 season, recorded a power play marker to cap off the night.

Storm netminder Bradley van Schubert saw 42 shots on the night, while Sting goaltender Justin Fazio made 24 saves for the shutout.

Guelph is back in action this coming Thursday when they visit the Windsor Spitfires.
