Des Moines Buccaneers News Release

The Des Moines Buccaneers Military Appreciation Night jersey auction was a huge success on Saturday, November 7th, with the jerseys collectively being auctioned off for over $10,000.

The Buccaneers hosted the Fargo Force and during the game wore special camouflage uniforms to honor the armed forces for Military Appreciation Night. After the game an auction was held on the ice and the jerseys were sold off one by one with the Buccaneers' own Jeff "Clutch" Witzke helping out as the auctioneer.

By the end of the night 23 jerseys had been sold for a total of $10,825, averaging over $470 per jersey. Nikita Pavlychev and Michael Montambault's jerseys tied for the most expensive auction prices while Nick Wolff and Joey Kubachka's jerseys tied for the next highest amount of money raised. Proceeds from the jersey auction benefitted Veteran's Affairs.

The Buccaneers are looking forward to announcing their next jersey auction date for the 2015-2016 season in the near future.
