Seven Eskimos Named to West Division All-Star Team

(Edmonton) - Today, the Canadian Football League named seven Eskimos to the West Division All-Star Team.

Division All-Stars are selected by CFL head coaches and voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada. CFL All-Stars will be announced in early December.

Eskimos West Division All-Stars are:

Receiver Adarius Bowman

Receiver Derel Walker

Offensive tackle D'Anthony Batiste

Defensive tackle Almondo Sewell

Linebacker Dexter McCoil

Cornerback John Ojo

Defensive back Aaron Grymes

Adarius Bowman | Receiver

In 17 games (17 starts), the fifth-year Eskimo recorded 93 catches for 1,304 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns. He is first on the team and second in the league for receiving yards and first in the league in catches. Bowman was named a CFL Player of the Week in Weeks 12, 17 and 18, as well as a Player of the Month for October. This is Bowman's second consecutive All-Star nod.

Derel Walker | Receiver

Rookie receiver Walker began the season on the practice roster before being activated in Week 8. He recorded 1,110 yards on 89 receptions with six touchdowns in 12 games. He set a team record for most receptions by a first-year player, breaking the previous mark of 84. Walker was named a CFL Player of the Week for Weeks 10, 14 and 19 and a CFL Player of the Month for August

D'Anthony Batiste | Offensive Tackle

A second-year Eskimo, Batiste is an integral member of the offensive line who started all 18 games this season at the right tackle position.

Almondo Sewell | Defensive Tackle

A four-time division All-Star and veteran member of the Eskimos defensive line, Sewell recorded 35 tackles and four sacks while starting in all 18 games this season.

Dexter McCoil | Linebacker

McCoil started in all 18 games, recording a career-high 76 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, three interceptions, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.This is McCoil's second consecutive All-Star nod.

John Ojo | Cornerback

In his rookie season, Ojo amassed 43 defensive tackles, eight special teams tackles and one fumble recovery while starting all 18 games. He finished tied for second in interceptions in the CFL with five. In Week 3, against Ottawa, he recorded his first career interception, returning it 57 yards for a touchdown.

Aaron Grymes | Defensive Back

In 16 games, Grymes recorded a career best 43 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, one sack, four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and one fumble recovery.
