Generals Double up Bulldogs

OSHAWA, ONT. - The Oshawa Generals (9-7-2-0) doubled up on the Hamilton Bulldogs (6-10-0-0) 6-3 Friday night at General Motors Centre in Oshawa.
The scoring started fast as Sullivan Sparkes stole a puck in the Bulldogs zone and beat Connor Hicks with a quick snap shot to make it 1-0 at 3:10 of the first period. The Generals made it a 2-0 lead as Michael Dal Colle fired a one timer in at 7:36 of the period with Domenic Commisso and Lukas Lofquist picking up the assists.
The quick start from Oshawa continued when Kenny Huether netted his 8th of the season from McDade and Manchurek at 12:03. After the first period the Generals held a 3-0 lead and were firmly in the driver's seat.
Hamilton was not done however as Stephen Harper and the Bulldogs closed the gap in the second period. Hamilton's leading scorer netted his 9th and 10th of the season. The first goal was setup by Trent Fox and Mason Marchment who hit Harper at the top of the slot and the forward beat Jeremy Brodeur stick side at 10:18 of the second. Harper's 10th of the season was scored at 11:20 when he beat Brodeur stick side another time. Yet again the assists were picked up by Fox and Marchment.
Sam Harding restored the two goal lead for Oshawa at 16:57 and the Generals would go into the second intermission with a 4- 2 lead over the 'Dogs.
In the third Matt Latin attempted a pass that went off a Bulldog stick in front of the net and in for the Generals 5th goal of the game. Michael Dal Colle made it a 6-2 lead with his second of the game at 8:34. Stephen Harper would finish off his hat trick as he tipped in a Mason Marchment shot at 15:30 of the third period.
The 'Dogs visit the Generals again on November 20th at General Motors Centre in Oshawa.
Hamilton continues their three game road trip Saturday night as they head to Owen Sound for a 7:30 p.m. start. The Bulldogs are back at home on Saturday November 14 when they host the Ottawa 67's at 7:00 p.m.
