 Ottawa 67's

67's Stifled by Rangers

November 6, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's figured Friday night's match against the Kitchener Rangers, one of the top-ranked teams in major-junior hockey, was going to be a tough test, and that's exactly what they faced.

The Rangers didn't give the 67's a whole lot of room to maneuver and scored just enough on the changes they generated in a 3-1 decision at the Arena at TD Place.

Kitchener posted a 3-0 advantage on goals by Mike Davies, Ryan MacInnis (son of Al MacInnis) and Mason Kohn before Stepan Falkovsky was able to get the 67's on the board with his fifth marker of the season late in the middle period.

Leo Lazarev faced 15 shots in net for the 67's, while Luke Opilka, a fifth-round 2015 NHL Draft selection of the St. Louis Blues, made 16 stops for the win.

Ottawa centre Drake Rymsha suffered a lower-body injury in the opening period, left the game and did not return to action. The injury will be assessed to determine the length of recovery required before Rymsha returns to the lineup.

The 67's have six consecutive road games (a game scheduled for Sunday against the North Bay Battalion has been rescheduled to Tuesday, February 9), beginning Friday, November 13 against the Niagara IceDogs.

Ottawa returns to TD Place on Friday, November 27 against the Sarnia Sting.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.

Youth hockey players in the Ottawa-Gatineau region can obtain free tickets to any 67's regular-season home game through the 67's Prospects program. Visit the 67's Prospects website for details, or call 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
