Oil Kings' Mayo and Hitmen's Bean Added to Team WHL

Calgary, AB - The Western Hockey League, in association with the Canadian Hockey League, announced today that defencemen Dysin Mayo and Jake Bean have been added to Team WHL's roster for the 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series, which begins Monday, November 9th in Kelowna, BC.
Mayo is currently in his fourth season with the Edmonton Oil Kings and has nine assists through his first 17 games played. The Victoria, BC product was selected by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round, 133rd overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft. For his WHL career, Mayo has 100 points (22g-78a) in 194 games as well as 21 points (3g-18a) in 45 games of WHL Playoff experience which includes a WHL and Memorial Cup title in 2014.
Bean, a 1998-born defenceman, is in just his second season with the Calgary Hitmen but has piled up 15 points (7g-8a) in 16 games played. The Calgary, AB native was passed over in the WHL Bantam Draft and subsequently listed by the Hitmen and now enters his NHL Draft-eligible season with 54 points (12g-42a) over his brief 67-game WHL career.
Mayo and Bean will replace Calgary Hitmen defenceman Travis Sanheim who is unable to participate due to injury. Team WHL will carry seven defencemen on Monday and Tuesday.
Earlier on Thursday, Sanheim was named as an alternate captain for Team WHL and a replacement will be named prior to the event.
The 2015 CHL Canada Russia Series will begin in Kelowna, BC on Monday, November 9th at Prospera Place. The following night, Team WHL will face Team Russia at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.
The 2015 Canada Russia series is supported by CHL associate sponsors, BMO Bank of Montreal, Cooper Tire, autoTRADER.ca and Sherwin-Williams. All games will be broadcast nationally on Sportsnet and TVA Sports.
