Rebels with a Third Period Comeback; Defeat Seattle 4-3

FIRST PERIOD

Red Deer opened the scoring in the back half of the opening period when Haydn Fleury beat former teammate Taz Burman top shelf for his 4th goal of the year. Ivan Nikolishin and Conner Bleackley assisted on the 1-0 goal 13:47 into the game.

Seattle tied the game when Gustav Olhaver capitalized on a Rebels turnover to beat Rylan Toth for his 2nd goal of the year. The Colorado Avalanche prospect's game-tying goal came at the 17:15 mark, assisted by Nick Holowko.

SECOND PERIOD

The Thunderbirds pulled ahead 2-1 when Alexander True netted his 6th goal of the year 1:18 into the middle frame.

Seattle added one more before the end of the period as Barzal found Holowko in the slot, he beat Toth for his second of the year and a 3-1 Thunderbirds lead.

THIRD PERIOD

Conner Bleackley pulled the Rebels to within 3-2 when he beat Burman with a one-timer for his 2nd goal of the year. Grayson Pawlenchuk and Ivan Nikolishin assisted on the goal 6:34 into the third period.

The Rebels pulled even a few minutes later when Evan Polei's shot deflected off of a diving defender and past Burman for his 4th of the year.

Nikolishin completed the Rebels comeback when he outwaited everyone before finding the open Seattle net for his 11th goal of the year. Adam Musil and Kayle Doetzel drew the assists on the 4-3 goal that came with 3:08 to go.

Seattle pulled the goalie with 2:03 to go but were unable to score the equalizer. The Rebels won for the first time this season when trailing through two periods, 4-3.
