HOUSTON (Monday, Nov. 2, 2015) - Houston Dash defender Toni Pressley was selected by the Orlando Pride in Monday's 2015 NWSL Expansion Draft. The Pride will begin play in 2016 as the NWSL's tenth club.

Orlando selected Pressley with the eighth of its ten selections. After Pressley was selected, the Dash protected forward Tiffany McCarty. The full Expansion Draft results are available here.

"I'm disappointed to lose Toni in the expansion draft today," Dash head coach Randy Waldrum said. "I was looking forward to working with her as I think she has a great upside. Having said that, Orlando is getting a quality player and even better person! I want to thank Toni for her service to the Dash."

Pressley, 25, started all 15 appearances with the Dash this season after she was acquired from the Western New York Flash on May 11. The Melbourne, Florida native has spent three years in the NWSL, with two seasons with the Washington Spirit before joining the Flash at the start of the 2015 season. The Florida State product represented the United States at the U-17, U-18, U-20 and U-23 levels, and was part of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup squad in 2010.

The Dash now shift their focus to the 2016 NWSL College Draft, set for January in Baltimore. Houston holds the No. 5 and No. 6 overall selections in the first round. The Dash selected U.S. national team midfielder Morgan Brian with the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 NWSL College Draft.

The Dash will open their third season in Houston in April 2016. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 713-276-GOAL or log on towww.houstondashsoccer.com.
