Bees Release 2016 Schedule

(Burlington-IA)- The Burlington Bees, class-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, have announced their 2016 Midwest League schedule, opening play on Thursday, April 7th against the Peoria Chiefs at Community Field, at 6:30.

The Bees will start the season at home for the second consecutive season, hosting the Peoria Chiefs, Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, on April 7th in game one of a quick two game series before the Bees head to Peoria for two more games with the Chiefs.

This season the Bees will host East division foes, Dayton, Bowling Green, Great Lakes, and Lansing as part of inter-division play. The first go around with the East begins in late April when the Bees head to Lake County to start a three game series with the Captains on April 26th, before heading to Fort Wayne for three with the Tin Caps. The Bees will host the Dragons and Hot Rods as part of a six game home stand, beginning May 3rd.

The Bees will once again play host to three honor roll days, with 11:30 am game times on April 13th, against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, April 19th against the Cedar Rapids Kernels and May 4th against the Dayton Dragons.

In August the Bees will play their largest stretch of home games on the 2016 schedule, playing 12 out of 15 games at Community Field. The Bees will wrap up their season on Labor Day weekend, hosting the Quad Cities River Bandits for three games beginning September 3rd.

The Bees will begin their fourth season as Midwest League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on April 7th, against the Peoria Chiefs. Individual game tickets go on sale in March. For more information, call (319)-754-5705.
