Toys for Tots Drive to Kickoff Next Week

FREDERICK, Md. -The holiday season is fast approaching and for the fourth straight year the Frederick Keys will be partnering with Toys for Tots. Each year, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December. These toys are then distributed as Christmas presents to less fortunate children.
This year's collection at Nymeo Field will start on Monday, November 2. Members of the community can drop off toys from 9-5 p.m Monday through Friday in the main office. Those who participate will receive two tickets to a 2016 Keys home game along with two Keys hats.
Last year, Nymeo Field was the top Toys for Tots collection destination in Frederick County, while Keys Director of Marketing, Bridget McCabe, says the generosity of the local community has been impressive.
"Our Toys for Tots Drive has been a great way to make a difference in the lives of others during the holiday season," said McCabe. "We are excited to continue our partnership with Toys for Tots and hope to grow our collection efforts once again."
The Frederick Keys kickoff their 2016 season on Thursday, April 7 against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on the Grand Strand, while the home opener is scheduled for one week later on April 14 at 7:00 p.m against Lynchburg. Ticket plans for 2016 are already on sale, while all plan holders will receive a Manny Machado and Jonathan Schoop double bobblehead.
