Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Junior Pats Spring Hockey Program is being expanded. It will now be available to players with birth years from 2004 -2008. There will be 17 spots available (9 forwards, 6 defensemen, 2 goalies) on a minimum five age group teams.

"For the Regina Pats, giving back to the community and developing young hockey players to their fullest potential is a priority for us," said Team Governor Anthony Marquart. "Our Junior Pats program is a great way to give skilled players in the area a chance to receive top-tiered coaching and competition."

The program operates from March to the end of May with teams getting 25-30 hours of practice time. In addition, there will be 2-4 exhibition games requiring travel one weekend within the province. The teams will also be entered into a minimum of three tournaments. One will be in Regina while the others will require travel. Further, teams will be entered in the Gold Division and depending on interest the Silver Division as well.

Evaluation dates have not been determined yet, however, information will be circulated in the coming weeks. Players will be chosen for the program based on ability, integrity, potential, work ethic and commitment.

"We're looking for players that are first and foremost coachable and understand what it means to be a part of a team," said Junior Pats Program Manager Chad Lang. "We will also be looking for players that have great character on or off the ice. This program is about the development of the individual in all aspects of their life."

The deadline to register is November 9, 2015. For information about the program visit www.reginapats.com/junior-pats-program. You can also contact the program manager at clang@reginapats.com.
